In a complete reversal of the normal natural order of things it is I who remain calm when out and my wife who turns homicidal. I think that’s because, for my own self preservation I suspect, I concluded last week that every single other person out walking was 99% certain to be a twat and I might as well assume this and move aside before my blood pressure was adversely impacted. With the bonus that this enables me to be even more smug and self satisfied than I was already. Plus it’s a joy when someone does shift or say thank you. Seriously though, the ignorance is stunning.
Wisely so. The government is taking things a day at a time. The economic implications of closing schools is always, I asume, on the table.
You think we have it bad... In France, it is like martial law. You need a form (typical French) to go to the shops and the police are checking these forms. My mate went to the shops and was stopped by the police because.... wait for it... He went to 2 shops and didn't specify. Basically he decided to get some bread while out. He said he went to the bakers and Chemist but the cops said he should have said that. Once in the bakers, they made him spend a certain amount on bread (4 Euro's). Nothing less.
What a pretentious prat this woman is. Wasting police time to sound smart. People on FB are blaming the 2 policemen.
Here is another doctor, a British one this time, with some helpful breathing exercises. Unlike the US doctor he is pretty certain that it’s secondary pneumonia that gets people into difficulty, and these exercises, from before you even think you're infected, could help. Don’t see that there is much to lose by doing them, and JK Rowling who has been through the virus recommends it. Unfortunately, if you are an adult I cannot recommend any of JK Rowling’s books.
I don't blame the police, I blame the daft guidelines (surely they aren't actually law?) that they are being asked to enforce. Sitting alone on a perk bench, for ****'s sake.
She'd be given short shrift by any court if she tried to run the argument that going outside to exercise included sitting on a bench to exercise the mind
Thanks mate......Yeah I feeling a bit down about it all at the moment. Big changes about who we work with (LFB, ERs) which is great in theory but in practice I personally can see it leading to a lot more pressure on the likes of me and the fear of burn out (for me anyway). Adding to the fact I could earn more at Tesco’s delivering veg it’s very tempting sometimes......Saying that it’s first few hours on my first night shift back so I’m always feeling a bit down. Hopefully my mood will lighten in the coming hours
Can't believe the PM is so serious. I wouldn"t be a fan of his politics but I wouldn't wish him any harm whatsoever. Hope he recovers. Prayers for him tonight.
Again not a political point and I hope he pulls through well and quickly, but he is in a high risk group - he lost a bit of weight recently with the new girlfriend, but has put a bit back on and two years ago he was 17st at 5 foot 9, which is obese, and he was very up front about it. There was an article on the BBC today from ITU in UCH, which had COVID patients aged 40 to over 70. The thing most of them had in common was diabetes (type 2 I assume) or high blood pressure according to the consultant ie weight, the rest had underlying respiratory issues.
