He has started well and is a good choice, mine would have been Lisa Nandy who has plenty of time, unlike the real stumbling block to credibility that is Diane Abbott.

Bang on Flanders, tho with Rayner as Deputy Leader, Labour are going nowhere.

She is an awful politician, with the never ending phrase “hold them to account”!!

And her tongue is too big for her gob!! Can’t wait to see her spitting image puppet. Definitely a throwback to Hattersley!!

Worse than Michael Foot ffs :D he is exactly what Labour need. As always there is a group of 'anyone but Labour' types who haven't got a clue what they're talking about pretending that this centre left guy is equivalent to the hardcore Corbynites that he is kicking out of the cabinet.

It's funny, but as someone who considers themselves completely apolitical, that's exactly what the left wing do too. Both 'anyone but the Conservatives' and spreading lies and smears to undermine them. Both sides are as bad as each others and it's almost laughable how they don't recognise it.

I like some of his cabinet appointments well. Nandy is a future prime minister in my view and I'm glad she got a top role. Bringing Milliband back into the front line is smart as well.

Having just read the latest news about Boris, I would like to wish him well too, and hope for a swift and full recovery.

It's far too early to tell yet, but he's made a fair start.

A much sterner test will be to convince, not just the Jewish community, but the rest of us too, that he can get rid of the anti-Semitic group who have, apparently, hounded so many long standing, loyal members out of the party just because they choose to attend a Synagogue.

We will know if he succeeds if he can charm these ex-members back.

This antisemetic label seems to be stuck on anyone, especially those with sympathies for the Palestinian people, which as far as I can gather was Corbyn's only "crime" against humanity. It is a very contentious subject, and I cant recall it ever being clearly debated. The fact that it has not been aired in public is astonishing given the number of hours devoted to those making the accusations across the media.

The 'anti-Semitic label has been stuck, as you put it, because of the way that Jewish members of the Labour Party no longer feel welcome.
As I'm not Jewish or a member of The Party, I have no idea if their claim is genuine.

The nearest I can come to any experience was watching on TV, a lady from Liverpool being interviewed.
Her views were very left wing, but she was holding her own rather well I thought till the Interviewer, told her that a Jewish MP had just announced that she wouldn't be standing at the next election (our most recent one), in view of the antagonism being generated by her local Party Executive.
Asked for her opinion about this, our Liverpool lass smirked and said 'good riddance then, another one down'.

This of course was only one person, obviously ignorant and biased, but I have no idea how much or how little she represented her Party's or fellow member's, views.

The fact that The Chief Rabbi felt it necessary to air his concerns in public was telling though.
His has always had a non-political role.
He was though only echoing views being expressed by members of his congregation.

I believe, though, that had Black Party Members received the treatment that Jewish Members are reported to have been given, the Party Rules would have been deployed with rather more vigour.

Undoubtedly some folk in the Labour Party are anti-semitic, they need to be kicked out, a lot more are pro-Palestine.

Therein lies the issue. The treatment of the Palestinians is awful (their terrorism in retaliation is bad as well). However, the backlash for the criticism of Zionism against Arabs is partly what is going on as well. Tories happy to stoke this issue, as it provides a smokescreen for their own racism.
