I should've added that those people who always have my respect are those like our very own Staines who do essential jobs that are very often under appreciated, and certainly not over paid
Frequently also emotionally and physically tough jobs that many would never want to do themselves

Big manly hug (from 2 metres) for Staines and fellow key workers

Well, I would say that the death rate across the period in question was not materially different to the average of the previous 5 years for the same period. I would also say that there were fewer deaths attributed to COVID-19 in these figures than the Govt. were reporting, but it will be interesting to see this graph extended through to the current period.

We've also learned that I can upload a graph, but that I'm too lazy to accompany it with a meaningful commentary at the time, although this was because I was having a cheeky poo.

    A final plea.....

Let's get back to debating the issues not endlessly slagging each other off

It really has started to get very tedious

There will always be opposite points of view but can we cut the personal insults (or at least take a temporary break) for a while?

Absolutely. Once the dust settles on this ****, there will be a reckoning, and those in the NHS must get their due reward, instead of being ignored year-upon-year.

When I was serving in the Army, it took two wars for us to finally start to see some change in the way soldiers were treated, both by our paymasters and the public. Now the NHS are in the front line of another war, poorly prepared and equipped, but fighting it bravely, and surely the recognition and recompense they deserve will come.

Actually, in my opinion I don't think there will always be opposing points of view. :)

Yeah sorry, I have kept this going longer than necessary. I just don't understand the childish attacks on me?
But if it makes them feel good then...

If Bozza pulls through, as I hope he does, it would be reet grand if he has a conversion of Damascene proportions and does just that.

    On another note
The briefing today sounded more positive (other than the deaths).

Thanks for the response Steel. We have seen just how important these people are to the well keeping of our nation. These guys deserve so much more than cheering and clapping (I dont mean the tories announcing the pay cap). Full respect to them all and all in social care still working and all public services like our very own Staines.

I'll ask because one of my team has and see what she's been told/allowed to do. However she lives in Newcastle and of course the need and the way V work is allocated my be different to the situation in London. However I suspect she may have been knocked back because both her parents are in the extremely vulnerable category. It's actually quite scary when you think about it because my wife has just told me where the contact details for support are just in case she catches it on an 'essential shopping' trip or she comes across someone who ignores the social distancing rules while walking for exercise.

Nothing stops for Cheltenham. How long until Royal Ascot?. If that is open you could gatecrash and sing 'Pigbag' in the winners enclosure. We need a few more posh fans of the right sort next season.
