I have to put the subtitles on more and more nowadays a combination of accents, muffled recordings, poor tv speakers, etc.
Another sombre tv noir experience was the Welsh drama hidden which i sat through recently... I don't think the sun ever shone...

Last night, ‘A Quiet Place’ was Mrs Andy’s offering. After a few minutes I decided to go and finish the old radio play I’d started earlier. Sub-woofer booms and occasional screams from two floors downstairs distantly punctuated my 1990 play called ‘Spanish Gold’, which was a little bit more my ‘scene’. ;)

Whereabouts did you watch that? I was watching it on my firestick but there were no links to the final episode, which frustrated the hell out of me.
There must be a problem with sunshine in Wales - the sun never shone once in three series of Hinterland either.

Still none the wiser - may have to Google him/them. To be honest, that doesn't look like the sort of thing that would have been popular in a Queensland country town 30 or 40 years ago...

good Alex Guinness film on today BBC2.

Opened our Harry Potter box set at the w/e and watched film no 2 (Chamber of Secrets), film 1 was hidden by the insert <doh>. Seen it before and I fell asleep half way though. Characterisation and ideas were good but plot a little thin I thought and the film seemed to be a series of scenes showing the film-makers CGI expertise rather than add much to the plot. I liked Dobbin thoug, could relate to him .

The noise of the lab was used in lots of films. I think it's a lovely film - Ealing at its best.

It wasn't popular with me, but I think it might have been a Number 1 over here?

I watched K-Pax last night for the first time in a few years... actually turned my pad off and muted my phone. Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. Set in a NYC psychiatric hospital, a compelling psychological drama with comedy moments and a sci-fi element. Brilliant theme tune. Wholly underrated film.

    Added to the list. <ok>

Today it was my choice. ‘Dial ‘M’ for Murder’ - a bit more my cup of tea. Wonderful stuff and the boys really enjoyed it. I’ll avoid spoilers, but Mrs Andy was unconvinced! Don’t know why, I think it’s excellent.

You’re providing an alibi for Mrs Duggie now! What have you two been up to? :bandit:
