I've just been reminded, 26 years ago today. A memorable visit to Carrow Road 4-5 Saints in a crucial relegation battle.. A Le Tiss hatrick and a towering Ken Monkou header to win the game. Took my son with friends aged 14, smuggled into pubs pre match.. how could he be almost 14 then and 40 later this month... where did those years go? Anyway, one of the great awaydays.. Stay safe guys and girls.. Love is the drug..
I think the same when I see my daughter - I used to take her to football from 1999-about 2009. I remember first her being dependant on me (she was 9 in 1999) to driving her dad home pissed (me pissed that is). Now I see her with my two grandkids on FaceTime and think where the f did that little girl go
Great news if true https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/1138...-sign-new-three-year-contract-at-southampton/
Keep coming up with the classics Richie I remember this so well. We were truly ROFL about that change of kit, but I can’t remember if they announced the reason ManU had done it at the time
No, I know that What I can’t remember is if they announced that AT the game and AT the time or we found out afterwards
I remember listening on '5 live' at the time, they certainly reported at the start of the 2nd half that was the reason why. I think as they realised how much ridicule was coming their way Utd tried to fudge it a bit.
And a chap on the radio pointed out that the Saints team seemed to be having no problem spotting team mates against a background of fans in red and white stripes.
I was at the game and remember it very clearly [wonder why?], no announcement at half time to my knowledge.
