I couldn`t care less about her make-up - I`m just glad she`s my First Minister. I wish she was the Prime Minister.
So do I and I have said so since the Brexit debacle. Instead we have a buffoon leading a bunch of greenhorns some of whom are seriously thick.
Someone mentioned something in the other thread regarding taxes, which made me think: Wouldnt it be nice if you got a breakdown of how the tax you've paid at the end of the year was spent. Everyone ****ing hates taxes now, but imagine if you opened a letter in April saying "you directly helped 2 people find a home and saved 2 lives" or something. Taxes will always be annoying, but I'm sure there are ways you could make people happier about them. Instead of just faceless men confiscating your money. Something like that would he an easy way to engage people with the community.
I am sure when I log into the govt site and go to my tax calculation on the self assessment site there is a tab that does that - not to the level you say but £x gone to NHS £x to army and so on. I could be wrong though and dreamt it.
That does ring a bell actually. I think it's more at a national level, and is at the very least hidden away.. I just think there's definitely massive room for some positive PR to make us hate it all a bit less. When I'm prime minister I will bring this in. Also I'll bring in the acid idea from the other thread
We are told he is capable of a short walk. I'd be more interested in him taking a long one - on a short pier.
…….and falling into very deep water infested with ferocious, half starved and ravenous sharks and alligators and killer whales.
MPs can claim £10,000 for additional office costs incurred as a result of the coronavirus, Parliament's expenses authority has said. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-52231592 It is beyond belief that politicians can stoop so low to take advantage of extra cash when so many people in this country are struggling to make ends meet, and even more that can't do that. I don't know about you guys but this makes me sick and I really don't give a flying **** whether it's a Conservative, Labour or Lib-Dem politician who takes this. Anyone taking this dirty money instantly makes them a parasite. This is exactly the kind of thing that contributes to huge resentment and can lead to civil disobedience and even riots.
I think it's fake news. It's something to do office expenses apparently that has been misrepresented.
We've heard that one before from Trump when he wants to dismiss reports that have caught him out. It's note fake. It was in the Times as well today.
"Boris is out. It really is a Good Friday," was the headline in yesterday's Sun. Imaginé how delighted I was, thinking there had been a Cabinet coup while he was in hospital. Perhaps next time when he is on paternity leave.
I bet Priti said " Come on guys it's my turn to have a go, I can't do any worse." Well, guess what Priti, you did! No PPE? Well I'll apologise for you lot not understanding that we're doing brilliantly - at everythink!
Thicky ****in Patel is goin to save us. Pass around the cyanide capsules boys we're ****in done for. I now believe everything horrid that has ever been said about this woman. She is even more crass than Johnson something I never thought possible. We are living in the most dangerous times with the most dangerous government possible. We will be lucky to get through this.
The home secretary has said she is sorry if people FEEL there has been a failure to supply sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE). Feel? Have the public somehow misunderstood? It's an abismal failure. The Cygnus exercise report highlighting the lack of resources was ignored. Early warning and advice from the WHO and the experiences of other countries also ignored. To use the word feel is totally inappropriate.
I don’t feel bad that, as a key worker, apart from hand sanitizer, there’s no PPE available in my workplace, because I feel the NHS should get it first. I feel a bit let down that there’s currently not even any wet wipes to wipe down the office when coming on and off shift, but I feel sure my managers are doing what they can to address this. I do, however, feel outraged and ashamed that, should I fall ill and be taken to hospital, there’s a good chance the nurses treating me will be put at additional unnecessary risk because the government didn’t feel like redressing the PPE shortage identified by the Cygnus exercise. That’s something that leaves me feeling angry and bewildered.
It's worth looking at the Cygnus report it also highlighted staff training needs and other equipment shortages. The number of ICU beds per capita compared with other countries isn't good either. https://specials-images.forbesimg.com/imageserve/5e6a0fadaa5428000759a47e/960x0.jpg?fit=scale
