Exactly where my son sits - Was supposed to sit his Advanced Highers (similar to A Levels I think) in two weeks time, bit they'be been cancelled and he's now having his course work assessed and grades given on how the teacher feels they may have done - whilst I have no other solution, I find this is open to big problems with either personality clashes with teachers, an assumption upon their behalf as to their expectations of their pupils and many other ambiguities. This could affect many aspects of their future lives, short term by possibly limiting their choices of University - my son has one unconditional offer, and three conditional - so these grades could point his choices to either the more prestigous, or the lesser University.

He's pretty rounded, with a good head (most of the time) but the isolation away from his friends at a time when he should be out having fun is starting to show. He's missed three 18th birthdays, which may seem a minor thing to us looking back, but at that age it's a huge event for the social group. Mental health in this age group is possibly going to be a big issue in years to come.

Again, these and many of the recent points posted highlight just how difficult this thing is to get right.
Every decision has many knock on effects.

    It's a bastard!!

You keep reading your news outlets.
I’m in Denmark but I know for a fact Germany went out of their way to help- even flying in many hundred to GER.
    Was it enough? No
But the prior doesn’t make quite as good a story for Cummings.

Tell that to all the relatives of those that died whilst the EU fined them millions of Euros. The monolith moved at snails pace and that's not praising our lot who were just as slow off the mark. Germany seem to have been a cut above...

Dunno mate. Danish seems to know what he’s talking about on this while you’re just making up bollocks to suit some totally illogical dislike of a body that has never done you any harm.

Actually Watford he is correct and Italy are actually talking about having a referendum. There is a job fight going on regarding the €500bn and how they believe they are not getting a fair share. Also, Russia flew in ventilators and medics to help while Brussels were having a meeting and couldn't come to a decision. That's a fact mate

Which bit is a fact? We’ve been happy enough to accept EU help where it’s suited us. Not that it makes many headlines.

Germany took in 100 people from Eastern France. That had nothing to do with the EU.

That should have said big fight, not job fight. However, the rest is factual.

Ask your mate who works in Germany (pharma).
He/ she will put you right.

Germany flew in many sick from Northern Italy- FACT.
Was it enough help? - No
Did the Italians help themselves- too early and too heartless to discuss now.
Have 70% of Danish deaths emanated from skiing trips to N. Italy?
Will there be investigations after? You betcha.

    Now, where’s my Daily Mail?

I don't need to ask my mate as I know for a fact Germany took in people... I have not said they hadn't?
All I said was it didn't come from Brussels which it didnt.

By the way, I’ve noticed something about Corona briefings

Level headed leaders are sitting down.
The less level headed ( insert as you please) all stand.

    Something in that?

I keep reading Sweden is a success story? When comparing Sweden's registered numbers compared to its Scandinavian neighbours, their method has been a long way from a success to date, though who knows what will happen in the end, I reckon it will be much the same. But currently not at all good:-

Sweden infected per 100K inhabitants: 187.4
Denmark infected per 100K inhabitants: 150.2
    Norway infected per 100K inhabitants:139.4
Finland infected per 100K inhabitants: 84.7
UK infected per 100K inhabitants 224.8

Sweden deaths per 100K inhabitants: 22.5
Denmark deaths per 100K inhabitants: 7.4
Norway deaths per 100K inhabitants: 3.8
Finland deaths per 100K inhabitants: 3.4
UK deaths per 100K inhabitants: 30.8

    Sweden deaths/infected: 12.02%
    Denmark deaths/infected: 4.91%
    Norway deaths/infected: 2.71%
    Finland deaths/infected: 4.05%
    UK deaths/infected: 13.69%

Not going to be pernicious or pedantic but your reference to E. France, alluded to not also being Italy.
FYI - Germany is to all intents and purposes, the ****ing EU!!!!

People having to go without wages for longer leading to more hardship further down the line.
More disadvantaged kids being out of school.
More people with suspected serious illnesses not getting themselves checked.

The economy more ****ed than it is now, leading to more mental health issues and more hardship.

Funny how many states disregarded the EU.
Germany becomes latest to close borders as coronavirus tests EU solidarity
Discontent over the EU’s response to the crisis is fuelling a surge in euroscepticism in Italy
