http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_6742028,00.html Truth? Or a ploy to get him to try and hand in a transfer request so they get him cheap?
There's probably a bit of truth to what they are saying. Barca are in an awful financial position as we all know. Personally I'm not sure they can afford to spend ã40+ million on a player who wouldn't get in the team ahead of Xavi or Iniesta.
I would say truth. They don't have the money. Probably trying also to mess with his head before the game
It would probably be for the best for him to stay at Arsenal or he may just end up on the bench at Barcelona...like Mascherano.
I saw in a recent article on some US site that they're moaning about the transfer fees of Torres and Carroll as it'll make Arsenal charge more for Cesc. WTF!! They came in with 29m and claimed that was all he was worth. What a bunch of bottom feeding scumbags! Pay what he's worth and do it through the proper channels, or shut up and show some respect. Trying to use the fact he was born and trained there but ignoring the fact they didn't give him the chance he deserved to make the first team shows you what they're all about. They'll be back in the summer with Xavi and Pique talking about his friggin Barca DNA of that you can be sure. I hope we beat them, I don't expect to over two legs, but I hope at least we go there with something still to play for. Shut them up for a few minutes and it gives Cesc the chance to show them what they were too stupid to keep.
