Bloody pessimist. Thinking like that could cause you to miss the day that Leeds become a big club again. You could live forever. <laugh><laugh>

I know that the truth isn't always as written and I'm not in the UK so I don't know what has actually happened but if this is nearly right then .............

Load of crap we will see when the W. H.O release their data comparing deaths over the last six months. Then we will see the true figures from other countries. Too many people willing to take cheap shots and make themselves look big and clever. Not slating you at all Eric. Stay safe and stay healthy. Glorious day here in Wakefield West Yorkshire a walk is in order.

wakey does have a point that we may not know the true like for like levels across the globe for some time if we ever do.

It will be interesting to see when we get a reliable antigen/antibody test to see how many of us have actually had the virus. It is possible that our ‘strategy’ has actually moved us further towards herd immunity than most other countries (how far towards who knows?) which might dictate an earlier resolution to it for us. Given the track record of vaccines for other corona viruses, the alternative to herd immunity for countries is likely infinite isolation/distancing/track and trace.

No consolation to those who have lost lives or loved ones.

It would be by luck not judgement though, there’s no doubting the management of it has been shambolic. There will be some interesting inquiries/law suits when this is all over.

Oh dear. Sadly, in this country, Boris the Butcher of Britain seems to be unable to do any wrong in this country. Even when faced with a totally bald lie, like us achieving 100k tests per day, the tory hordes still back him.

Not sure if you would have heard this one, Eric, but the Government set a plan to hit 100k tests per day by the end of April. Surprise, surprise, they made it on the 30th! However, they happened to briefly & quickly mention that the number included a roll-up of 40k tests that had been mailed out. Not mailed out & returned - simply mailed out. A bit like an insurance salesman getting a massive bonus for sending out 40k proposals & failing to sign up one of them. <doh> But they tell me everything's ok now, as Boris the Butcher of Britain has declared that we have a new target of 200k for the end of May.

And let's not forget the £60k the Government are giving to the families of the NHS fallen. No doubt they will be signing their life away, as it will be a 'full & final settlement' that prevents them from suing when the Government are finally exposed for knowingly putting lives at risk unnecessarily.

If it’s in the evening, is tomorrow the first day of the rest of one’s life?

Fair enough Wakey, the numbers are somewhat irrelevant 1000, 10000 100000. Its still a lot and heartbreaking if one of that number is a relative. I was more interested in the account of the actions taken as if these are near the truth then surely there has to be some level of accountability and responsibility for the consequences. It was good weather here too, warm and sunny but we could do with a little autumn rain.

but it’s the slightly warmer weather in April that will make the virus disappear.... (sarcasm over).
