If he was racing for his regular team they are not going to be happy with the negative publicity. Maybe even bring the sport into disrepute if it was a sanctioned event?
Not saying that just as I like Lando but it's supposed to be a proper sports event not just people 'playing' a game!

It was just a really crap thing to do. It basically just cheated everyone watching it. I imagine sponsors probably aren't thrilled. Even with it being a virtual event, their names are all over a pile of ****housery.

Personally if their going to treat it like a proper event, it should be policed like a real event - which would have Ferucci and Pagenaud facing multiple race bans. But it seems like they didn't police any of the practice events or the main one. Perhaps if they'd given out grid penalties or something for misdemeanors in practice, it would have been taken seriously. But this is all with the benefit of hindsight, and perhaps they felt that because it had all the trappings of a proper event, drivers would act accordingly.

Curious to see how it plays out, have Indy or the teams involved commented yet?

Conversely the F1 has gone the other way from an abortion of an event to one that had the kind of on-track battle every F1 fan has dreamed of seeing since Arnoux and Villeneuve.

This weekend's race was pretty reasonable, wasn't clear whether Russell, Leclerc or Albon would win it. Top 8 all have F1 experience, followed by a cluster of decent drivers. Amazed Aguero was 14th, given his driving at times.

It was fun, I don't know how Russell only got the one penalty.

he'd obviously spent the week finding the exploits, I wanna see if anyone is low enough to go for the cheat in france, you can knock 20-30secs off a lap by drving around the outside, as long as you don't rejoin the track it wont give a penalty.

Button and Alonso doing the legends indy500 was entertaining. I wonder if Jenson would be tempted to do it for real

nice ty. I seem to have filled my SSD with games for about £50.

edit: the standards for a 'clean lap' seem ridiculously harsh, I'm not even touching the kerbs ffs, just a touch of oversteer and it's a fail.

I couldn't get it to run on my hardware unfortunately, 10 fps at best with everything turned right down. At least it was free to find that out!

Shame, mine seems to prefer ACC to AC, due to AC only using one CPU core which puts the load upto 95%+ and leaves the other 11 just ticking over, where as ACC spreads the load around.
How're you getting on with AC? I've been doing the career mode at 98% to learn tracks and cars to a reasonable level before I attempt any online racing, but it's been extremely frustrating, the AI are just as savage as the F1 public lobbies, except only you get screwed.

Old Monza is great, took the porsche 908 round it, great fun, bit bumpy around the banking though, the hypercars certainly don't the 2nd one.

I'm enjoying it, but agree the AI and CPU usage are odd. With Content Manager for AC you can at least adjust AI aggressiveness more, which I think helps a little. I'm mainly running hotlaps at the moment, which obviously avoids the AI issues. There's a really good app called RSR Livetiming which shows you how well you compare against others using the same track/car combo. For things like a GT3 car around Spa, you can see how you stack up in a field of several thousand, and there's graphs on the website so you can see how far off you are.

yep, I been practice-lapping, and have RSR live timing website up, didnt realise there was an app, so that's been dl'd and installed. I usually check out which race is the next in my current career championship then set the practice track up for the same time and weather & track conditions, and then pound around the track and see where I am on the RSR website. once my time was on the first page, though not really that close to the fastest times (I'm not sure if some of them are possible any more, after updates) I go and do the race. I figure that once I've beaten the career mode with 100% AI I'll have learned the tracks and cars enough not to wreck the field at T1 when I go online.
The career mode itself is completely screwed though, the first races you have to come in the top 3 to advance, and you have absolutely zero chance of beating 2 of the other 9 cars staryting in front of you as they're in cars 3-5 seconds a lap faster than the human set lap record for your car. The time trials in the career mode seem to be a case of going around in the slowest possible time to make the next checkpoint and making small improvements lap by lap, rather than going as fast as you can on each lap, weird.
I have content manager, can't seem to change their aggressiveness for career mode, just the general strength
