Good Morning. It's Tuesday 12th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road FA step in to silence bottom six The Governing Body of Football, the FA, have stepped in, and have told the Premier League that the season must be concluded on sporting merit. It means that declaring the season null and void and scrapping relegation, is not an option. Either the remaining games are fulfilled or final placements will be decided mathematically on a points per game basis. The announcement was made at the start of yesterdays crunch video conference between all 20 Premier League clubs leaving the unamenable bottom six with second thoughts that concluding the remaining games wasn't such a bad idea after all. There will be a vote next Monday whether to resume the season on June 12th All players and staff will be tested for coronavirus twice a week during the remainder of the season. Games will be played behind closed doors at neutral venues like Wembley or St George's Park! please log in to view this image Is it fair that remaining games be played at neutral venues? During yesterday's meeting, over half of the Premier League clubs requested to use their own stadiums to play out the final 92 games of the season. The Government stance remains that neutral grounds are preferred for safety reasons! Does it make much of a difference as long as the home team take responsibility for the safety of the players? Last week, the EFL told all Championship clubs it was their aim to restart the 2019/20 campaign in line with the Premier League. This means the Championship season could be up and running a month today! Should the Championship have to follow the same guidelines regarding playing their remaining games at neutral venues? The Whites have not won a game in London for over three years; how would they fare if all their games were to be played at Wembley? please log in to view this image Given the option, would you want to see the remaining games of the Championship played out? Leeds took a giant step forward towards promotion yesterday when the FA stepped in and told the Premier League that no matter what, three teams would be relegated at the end of the season. As things stand, that would mean that Leeds would be promoted as Champions should the second tier season fail to recommence. If you were given the option today whether to promote Leeds as Champions, or see out the remaining nine games - which way would you vote? please log in to view this image
Morning, It's not going to happen but I would love to see the last nine games played, feel the excitement of winning on the last day and get really emotional as we clinch promotion and the championship. Unfortunately we will get promoted as the top club when the season was terminated and we will never be allowed to forget it.
Good morning. Great news! It's going to be fantastic to watch the bottom three now turn against Brighton, West Ham and Watford who would now presumably like to see the league finish on PPG. Who would you like to go down? Villa, West Ham and Brighton for me. I'm now worried that the only thing that can keep us from promotion is if they play the Championship season to it's conclusion and we implode again. I get the impression that the EFL aren't quite as eager to restart the season as long as they can agree on a way to sort promotion and relegation.
100% hope this happens, but can you imagine the Derby, Notts, Hudds fans etc if we were to mess it up again after all this. It would be unbearable!
Morning all.... Cardiff City, we were 3-0 up, we all remember the slump, I bet we all feared dropping out the top 6 not alone automatics. You only have to have back to back defeats and it’s a whole new outlook. Another scenario, we start the final 9 games, we lose 2 and draw one, Fulham win their first 3 and the Coronavirus takes hold again and this time the season is stopped and current standings determine promotion, play off scrapped and it’s decided 2 up 2 down, we miss out, or we win one draw one, WBA win 2 and then it needs to be stopped, we go up as R/U (which is okay but top is better) Declare the season over now and declare us champions, I’d take that any day of the week, why take a chance.
Morning pal, I'd love to see Norwich go down. The amount of times they took advantage of our financial situation and got players from us on the cheap, time and time again.
I blame Ken Bates for that not Norwich City. He sold our soul, over and over again. Oh and that idiot Warnock for the Becchio - Morison debacle
Hmmmm now let me think a guarantee on going up,possibly imploding (it's Leeds after all) or playing most of the remaining games in London --------- I have come to a decision---------- it's Party time Good morning everyone hope you are all keeping well.
Can't see the championship games being played out, so declare the season over now & allow us our deserved place in the prem Alright there'll be sour grapes from other clubs in the future but I don't give a stuff how we are promoted because we are the best team in the league, simple as that! Norwich & Villa relegated would be the icing on the cake
I have no desire to watch Leeds play behind closed doors (and possibly screw it up). Why take the risk, get it over now via PPG. There are too many games left to play to get it finished, too much testing to do and not enough money to pay for it all. I'd be amazed if they don't call a halt.
"If you want premiership football, you pay premiership prices" Yes Ken & instead you gave us League One you greedy bloodsucking snake of a man Definition of the word 'vile' - Bates & Warnock
Anyone heard anything from Mick (OLOF) Thought someone said he had a few problems, but it's been a long time, hope he's OK.
I sent him a message the other day but it doesn’t look like he’s even checked in for a long time. Last time I asked Shaks kindly updated us that he has some personal issues that he can’t go into. Fingers crossed they get sorted positively and he’s back posting soon
Pretty sure that Wet Sham would go down if it came to PPG. Didn't someone post a table to that effect? (Actually, it might have been me). That's why motormouth Brady has been sounding off so much about ending it all as-is.
Seems to be a couple of different variations for Ppg being suggested too. Expect a decision sometime around September 2021
