I'm not a clever bloke but I wouldn't have needed banks of scientists.

We'd seen, in China and other countries, that there was a virus, with no vaccine or cure, that could only be spread by human contact.

It was deadly.

So instead of allowing free travel, in and out of the country, I'd have stopped that on day one.

Horrific.

Those more interested in celebrity than politics were able to buy into him and didn't see his character flaws as an issue because he was "entertaining".

He's been caught out massively in pmq's again today. I suspect it will be a weekly thing until he realises that he can't bluff a QC like you try to do the media or general public.

Not necessarily that 1/2 population fall below average. You could have 80% below, if the top 20% score particularly high, and likewise only 20% below if they score very low. I'm just being pedantic - nothing better to do at the moment. The point is as you suggest, we have too many thickos

 

I don't think they do it on purpose. I don't think they're always helpful in their approach but I don't believe they deliberately mislead.

To clarify, Furlough is remaining until October but the 80% figure is only guaranteed until the end of July which is where the confusion comes in.

I didn't mean it in a disrespectful way to be honest. My parents would undoubtedly be in the lower half. My dad left school at 14, my mum at 16. They could probably just about spell GCSE with the grades they got. They're both hard workers though and provided everything me and my brother needed and encouraged us to have aspirations to be better educated than they are. They're just everyday working class people who want to be given clear advice and follow it. I don't see why it's expecting too much of a government to provide this clear advice. Instead they got statements that were vague and people telling them to either use common sense or read a 50 page document.

 

One of the big issues, and it could come under intellect, is that folk would rather believe why some nobody posts than read up on facts themselves.

Very well put and exactly my sentiment - I was taking my own measures long before BoJo decided it was time - and I'll be taking them long after too.

If someone had the balls to make an early decision and effectively shut the borders, we might have had the resources to eliminate it like Australia and New Zealand have just about done. And before anyone says it's easy in hindsight, I've been saying it for a long time!

Probably why Rees Mogg is ****ting his pants, because he wants all MP's to return to Parliament ASAP, regardless of the lock -down. He knows Johnson has little back up during the latest PM'Qs, and without the Tory members braying and guffawing from the back benches, Johnson hasn't got a gallery to play and looks more inept than usual.

Many people seem confused and I'm one of them in all honesty.

The PM was Mayor of London yet is now claiming that he's 'surprised' that so many people needed to use public transport yesterday.

I'm lost with all of this ...

... either he genuinely doesn't know, or it means that he does and doesn't care.

 

Sadly he just doesn't concern himself with taking responsibility for actions. There's very few people who grow up with the level of privilege he had (Bullingdon club etc) who can then realistically empathise with those that find themselves without options. It's all to easy to just think "why don't they just..." and the truth is some people will find themselves without a choice - he can pay lip service to what people can/should do but he'll never be able to understand as he'll never be in a position of genuinely being concerned about putting food on the table. That's not specific to him but he's a pretty extreme example of it.




Bear in mind this is people who are seen as very wealthy compared to the average person going to Oxford University...

 

Both, plus he avoids any kind of accountability, so many of his Tory peers and (friends?) having openly stated he is lazy, clueless, narcissistic- traits that honestly should not have him anywhere near being a PM.

He showed his true colours many times, recently, whilst the media spotlight was on him: hiding in the fridge, avoiding Andrew Neil during the pre- elections interviews, putting a reporters mobile in his pocket because he refused to look at the imagery of a sick child on a hospital floor, not attending any of the COBRA COVID discussions.

Since being elected how many holidays or extended unaccountable periods out of the media/public domain?

Even with Tory newspapers headlines 'Wheres Boris'?

He's walking disaster and the buck stops with him and his eugenicist 'advisors' for all the unnecessary and avoidable deaths.

The sooner he is removed from office the better!

IMHO This Government needs to be broader coalition/alliance whilst we're in the mire, we need open transparency, the truth, not the spin and lies that is currently being subjected on to us.
