What's to say in 2 weeks time Dynamo are ready to play but another 1 or 2 teams are in isolation so they still can't play? I also saw fifa have brought in temporary rules for extra substitutions, what's next rush keepers?
Dynamo's next opponents won't be looking forward to the game ... ... it's all really silly. There are much more important businesses that aren't to operate, this is just a game ffs.
It may be just a game, but football fans need it for their mental well being and as a morale booster for the country. Maybe I don't see the bigger picture, but I couldn't give two ****s about football at the minute while hundreds of people are dying and we are months and months away from a possible vaccine
I fully agree mate I should have added that the mental wellbeing comment was something I have read on forums and in the press in the past 4 weeks.
I know mate, I've seen it myself. I've also seen many people saying it would be a huge morale boost to country ... ... imo a bigger boost would be hundreds of people not dying day after day
A couple of seasons back when we had three keepers who were dire we could have done with rush keepers , even with all three on at the same time we would have struggled!!!
I don’t get this football for national morale . Not everyone’s bothered about it . There’ll be many distraught people when eastenders and Corrie have used up the already recorded episodes, and poor those who will have to do without Love Island . My morale would be boosted with a couple of hours on Seaburn beach
A third Brighton player has tested positive, this restart is absolutely crazy imo. "The unnamed player, who will now self isolate for 14 days, was tested on Saturday - two other players tested positive earlier in the pandemic." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/52605961
Its ridiculous to even think about it. Players sweating like fekk and going up for headers against each other. Be like the Colosseum, thumbs up or down time .
**** the money, just be sensible and void the seasons. Stop trying to come up with half baked ideas to restart, the vast majority don't care about football in these current times
This has been my gut feeling from the start. Sadly, this season has been a washout and there's no denying it. The only honest option is to just accept that this crisis has ruined the season instead of, as you say, trying to jump through one ****ty hoop after another. We all know this nonsense about the integrity of the game really means 'money money money'.
How many people on here really want to go to the first game with people barking and snotting all over you, I wouldn’t be surprised if crowds get to more than half what they used to be.
Hmm those clubs who are in promotion places are happy for the season to end eg Rotherham chairman, those in relegation want season to continue/or no relegation
Joint statement released by a number of clubs, including ourselves, refusing to accept the season voided, or decided by any scenario other than finishing it. Citing, quite rightly, that the PL, Championship, Bundesliga, La Liga, Liga Nos and many more are being completed. Seems the smaller clubs are the only ones not game. On the day the government ok’d sport to start preparing a return. We may yet escape this ****pot league.... Things you spot when you work in sales and marketing, Fleetwood’s tweet (all the clubs released on in unison to back Darragh McAnthony who is spokesman elect), didn’t use a verified club twitter. Might seem nowt to many but **** me it shows the depths we are crawling in this time.
It has to be safe for the players and staff involved in the closed doors games... Did I read the Premier League was told by the govt to help fund lower league clubs to start playing.. I presume this means testing etc and funds to make up for lack of crowd money.
Just watch McAnthony on Sky and then Neville. Neville said ‘all clubs are happy to finish season across bottom 2 leagues but there’s the economic cost. For clubs who are safe from relegation and not going to get promoted the economic cost of playing out the games with no fans is £2-300k’ He went on to say, Salford would cover there own costs, as I’d imagine would several other clubs. As soon as we kick a ball furlough stops. It’s to the FA and EFL to let clubs know they are covered, even Sky I’m sure would put in and cover more of the games that had some meaning. In simple terms based on Nev’s numbers, which will be bang on as he’s a brilliant businessman, it’s going to cost £14.4 million to finish League One and 2. That doesn’t seem a massive stretch. The value to Coventry and the 2 teams that join them in the Championship alone justifies that. I’d be surprised if Sky don’t pay that on the EFL deal if it’s completed.
