What I’m trying to decifer, and I know you are 2, is ‘would the club be debt free if Madrox collapses’ Is there liability v the club and it’s assets other than to FPP? If there isn’t, then a Madrox hit is a blessing, surely?
That's a tricky question to answer, I have a product meeting now but in short, the answer is that Madrox shouldn't realistically be able to implode unless we have already imploded...
Are the clubs asking the players if they want to play the remaining games because they are the ones taking all the risks? Maybe that's why some clubs aren't keen on a resumption.
On a different topic, I’ve just been shown on a video call what’s allegedly our new kits. Sadly, they are based on a template but with a round collar with piping and look very smart, he wouldn’t allow me to picture. There’s some bright yellow shirts as well, unclear if they were an away kit or potential training gear. All, interestingly, were sponsor free at this stage.
They look very similar to the Nike kits we had in the early 80’s, but more red than white. He works for a big courier/shipper hence the privacy. Boxes of dri-fit boxing. The yellow is very in with Nike at the minute on trainers and boots. ‘volt’ they call it. They could of course be samples, but without Covid we’d be seeing next seasons kits about now.
Please tell me and lie if you have to, that they don’t have that god awful solid colour panel on the back.
Straw the breaks the camels came, like you say all we've know bar a few seasons is absolute dross and turmoil.
Oh God, I see Harry Redknapp wants to buy a football club in League 1 or below, then I remembered @Smug in Boots quote about taking advice from a former English Manager. Imagine that, he's a figurehead with a small stake, no don't, it doesn't bear thinking about
If you were a billionaire thinking of buying a football club for peanuts, do you think that you might sit back, set up the staff that you want, the scouting and coaching teams, identify transfer targets, then swoop when the time was right and hit the ground running?
The big thing is the time being right, and all indications so far make it seem likely that those are tied to us getting promoted.
Some bad PR and inconsistent messages aside, I have to be honest and say I have largely supported Donald’s stewardship, thinking that he genuinely cared. However, to add to the gripe, and something I have not seen critiqued elsewhere, is the lack of development off the pitch. We were told, especially by Methven, that there were significant plans in place for a new ticketing system, reconfiguration of Black Cats House into a large store, mobile bus shops, better beer, tidy-up of SOL etc. In two years all we have seen is a re-birth of the fanzone. Slow progress indeed and surely another sign that there is no money, or the money has gone out.
just a section of their ongoing jackanory to the Sunlun fans. In fact, other than the seat change (Which the fans down for nowt) I can’t really see what other positives they have brought to the table.
