Yes sounds like he is ok but naturally worried. Isn't sure where he caught it. I am sure people will give their opinion though !
It seems that some are questioning how this news became public. Some suggestions that the Mail was going to leak it, so he came out with it first. If that is true another black mark against the gutter press.
Deeney can do what he wants. We have a better chance of staying up if he plays though and that's the truth. Hope Mapps recovers, bet his fam are worried too now. Who were the other two positive tests? Other staff? Get well soon to them too!!
Yes think so. Sounds like it - people kept asking. These things never say quiet. They probably hoped it was Deeney !
According to Pearson 4 other players didn't train today plus Deeney and Mariappa. Nigel showing off his mask!
Pozzo Snr getting involved. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...itive-coronavirus-tests.html#comments-8344039 Good to see a united front but don't think we are going to get our way ..
The comments are so... Not Intelligent.. Like are we not in the midst of a killer pandemic..?? Just moronic posts about... relegate them etc...
Well exactly my point .. They all just think it's us making excuses to try and end the season which no one has actually said. And we had players training yesterday so clearly aren't ALL refusing to play as suggested. We are just expressing concern probably because we have seen it close up when helping the NHS. Pozzos might have lost friends in Italy and 3 people in the club have suffered this week as we have seen. Whereas the top teams and Premier league don't care really ..it's get on with it and hope for the best. I see it generally - comments from people clearly not affected along the lines of "oh lets just move on normally - it's only a few older vulnerable people" "They were going to die anyway" "More people will die from hunger and other things than from this virus."
And now they have said relegation will happen so the bottom 3 won't want the season to end. Other teams will want European football as well. Basically it's us, Brighton and West Ham v the rest.
All the time that the small clubs are affected and not one of the big boys we will get these moronic comments!!! I dont wish this on anyone, but if some of the top clubs' players contracted it or refused to train etc...there would be a different message and rhetoric being spouted. I could imagine what would be said if it got hold of Liverpools squad and laid all of their players low meaning they needed to play all their games with a youth team!!! how many games (losses) before they were crying out for the league to be stopped and them awarded the title??
We just have a lot of people at the club who speak their mind and not gagged by PR spin and club rules. Probably like Brighton - Glenn Murray is an old school striker like Deeney who is a fans favourite and the owner is trusted by the fans too. Personally reckon Troy and Pearson would have said what they did even if we had been 4th in the league and in the cup/Europe. Don't think their agenda is to *stop the season and all the fuss about neutral grounds being bottom 6 forced only was wrong because it turned out 14 clubs wanted to play at home! Guess if a player at a top club spoke out of turn they'd be punished in some way or at Sheffield United or Wolves they'd be accused of trying to wreck their chance of Champions league football which won't come again. And as I say the bottom 3 want the season to end otherwise they'll be relegated by PPG. *I bet we want that Sky money if the season carries on as much as everyone else tbh!
Watford and some other clubs have done a great deal to help throughout the crisis. Because of its unique location it has been able to provide an outstanding service for the staff at the hospital. Not once have I seen anyone questioning just what the cost to the club has been. For the Pozzo family to take this upon themselves shows that they really care rather more about people than making money. They should be applauded, and the idiots who think that the Mail is a place to go to for education need to be sent to an unsafe primary school.
Well it was just the first link I saw but its in in the Watford Observer now as well though - and without the annoying adverts hopefully. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/18466196.father-watford-owner-gino-pozzo-giampaolo-thinks-premier-league-rushing-back-soon/ Dare I say quoted better too. I don't like the headlines used by these national papers really - makes the comments seem so dramatic and OTT. And even "Project re-start" when it came out seemed a bit tacky.
I know everyone's entitled to an opinion, but some footballers - and former footballers - should stick to what they know best...
Most people, including ex footballers, realise Sturgeon has an agenda just to be different from England.
Interesting that Robbie Savage raised a question at the briefing tonight, how it was possible for a tennis player to get coaching, but the game of the people, football was not allowed at grass roots levels. The answer was interesting from Whitty. It is safer to play outdoors, but a contact sport with 22 players rushing around is not so safe. If there is a problem with team sports such as football for the village team, why is it safe for a professional team?
