It always makes me laugh when they claim promotion to the PL is worth a billion quid oe whatever.

We all know that most of that is swallowed up by transfer fees, wages, agents etc etc etc.

It doesn't matter if it's 1 billion or 10 billion, the players just want more and the transfer fees go up expediently.

So I'm quite sure the average middle class retired lady would throw her doilies at the TV screen and shout 'f*ck off you f*cking greedy cu*ts' ...

... or words to that effect <laugh>

I can't see us getting the support we need to play.

When you break it down, only Tranmere, us, Ipswich, Peterboro and maybe Doncaster have a huge incentive to play it out.

Some of the playoff teams around us may say they want to now, but Oxford, Pompey and Fleetwood might think after some pressure that they'd rather stick on a playoff spot, rather than twist at this point, leaving Peterboro shafted and Wycombe voting no in order to benefit.

Then Southend and Bolton are down, they know that, it's probably worse financially for them to play, ditto loads of clubs running in hibernation now. I don't see any incentive for the teams 12 points or more back from the playoffs to play, ditto anyone anywhere near the relegation spot. I don't think any of them are daft enough to start paying staff and players to play football matches unless they absolutely have to.

It's a ****ty situation for everyone, including the people making the decision. Don't envy them, but I bet a few owners at the bottom will think it wouldn't hurt having us and Ipswich stay down for financial reasons too.

Aye. I reckon the PL might try to bail out the Championship but leave L1+2 hanging.

    Think you could be right.
I think this could be the start of a Premier League One and Two
The EFL are looking increasingly hopeless.
They are leaving it to the clubs to decide whether to play on or not when they should be looking for a financial solution.
If smaller clubs cant play the season out then if next season starts behind closed doors they cant afford that either
Clubs will go to the wall or we could be looking at a major league restructure.

So the mags are about to become the richest team on the planet with an Oil rich nations assets supporting them, and we are doomed in league 1 with Del Boy in charge and a risk of going under.

Anyone have some good news? :emoticon-0121-angry

If that is the case and Premier League 1 and 2 are created, Sunderland should be pushing like feck to be part of Premier League 2. The FA has history of demoting teams and promoting others, and have done it recently to our lasses when wsl 1 and 2 were created. If they want a competitive Premier League set up, they need the biggest teams in it. No disrespect to teams like Luton, Wigan Millwall and Brentford, but the crowds they attract blend in to insignificance compared with us. If FPP were to back us in this, this could be the lifeline we're looking for. I don't think it's fair, but since when has fairness played a part in the F.A.'s thinking?

The Russian oligarch I worked for wanted me to build an illegal underground desalination plant to take the sea water so he could have vast beautiful lawns in the heat of the Riviera summer.

I explained it was illegal and he said no one would know. I asked what he'd do with the workmen who were bound to blab.

He just shrugged and said he'd bring in Siberians who wouldn't talk because he'd know where there families were!

This is North East football, give it another 4 years and Newcastle will be owned by Iran’s invading army and we’ll be racing up the Prem thanks to our world famous manager Jozy Altidore

No matter how rich they are or how well they do, they will always be mags and nothing can take away the 6 in a row. Also despite being on the verge of all of this money, they are still obsessed with us.

Oh and when the going gets tough they try to punch horses, smash up phone boxes, hold mock funerals or go and shout at shops.

Success is temporary, class is permanent

And all your fans are angels? I could draw up a list off the top of my head to prove otherwise.
This is a thread about your takeover, can’t resist a bit of “mag bashing” on the side.
