So funny that Piers Morgan of all people has finally started asking for honesty

That to me chilcs is pure stupidity. A child having a family member visit often bucks the child up and helps him fight his illness. Not allowed to his funeral. God forbid if they tried to keep me away from my family’s funeral they would have world war three on their hands and then some!

As awful as it is, Beddy, at the point where you're arranging funerals, it's less important to buck people up than it is to prevent another funeral. Diseases are opportunistic, and most of their favourite opportunities are when we're with the people we care about, for either good or ill.

I suggest you tell that to the people that crowd the beach’s clearly flaunting the guidelines. The same people by the way that are saying no to their kids returning to school !!

That’s where we are Beddy. You would not have been allowed to attend a funeral if you had symptoms, as that poor child’s family did. Those are the rules, which most of us, apart from Mr Scummings, abide by.

Beddy, you are absolutely correct in your interpretation of the situation. This government wants to leave choices to 'ordinary people' which is fine, if choices are equally reasonable, but when it comes to life or death, either directly, or indirectly, people need to be told what to do, with good examples of everyone, from the top down, following the rules.
As soon as anyone considers that the rules don't apply to them, people do whatever they want, using the not unreasonable argument that it's OK for Dominic Cummings to flout the rules, so why should they bother? This is the direct route to anarchy.

My cousin in Australia wrote regarding Scummings:

"The UK has only just started to flatten the curve. In Australia our curve has been practically flat for weeks and we have only just started opening up. I don't know how far away Durham is from you but at this stage we are allowed to travel 150km for a day trip. In mid-June, if all goes well, that will be extended to 250km and overnight accommodation will reopen."

Australia is a very big country so 150 km for a days travel is very limiting.

yes mate as I can testify............although where we were staying people in the last few weeks despite there still being a lockdown of sorts still chose not to isolate. My Wife and I did but when we went out to exercise it was hard to keep away from people because they did not care. As you say though they don’t have that many southampton has more than Australia I believe.

    Nope. You're not allowed to.

    Infected means self isolating indoors.

I’m not sure I could abide by that......... under those circumstances.......law or no law. Thank goodness so far as I know I don’t have it nor do any of my family. What a situation for that family my heart goes out to them!

Also Dom Cummings wife’s sister lives 2 streets away? So if their son needed any kind of care, he could have gone there? Absolutely no excuse to need to drive 264 miles.

Ah, but the sisters (probably) fell out over the choice of curtains (or husbands), and there was enough said at our Janice's wedding, so I'm never going to darken her door again...
