But is that someone really likely to divulge any talks? Somehow don’t think so. Also don’t we have an ITK rubbishing these negotiations anyway?

Yes, it’s all bollocks mate, that’s been established.

There is literally nothing interesting happening, anywhere in the world.

God I’m bored. Thank god I’m at work tomorrow.

Yep pretty sure even if my son-in-law dropped the question in, he either would ignore it or not tell him. But as we know it is rubbish now anyway.

Shame, as I could have got good seats probably for the season. Though with the virus, I have the best seat on my sofa watching the behind closed doors games on TV :)

Nobody’s going to buy a football club now, are they? That’d be an even dafter idea than buying an airline.

But do I have to pay the player’s wages while I wait for the season to start/restart?

I would say the opposite, a very good time to buy a club. Get it at a better price especially from a China based owner as their economy is tanking following CV and USA tariffs as well as pressure coming from the rest of the world following their appalling behaviour surrounding the pandemic
I think Gao will be desperate to get out the club especially if he can keep the money out of China

No, it doesn't. But this presumes two things even assuming that this is no more than kite-flying.

Saints are almost certainly losing money, so who isn't?

Given this, who is likely to be in the market for our "stars". None of the ones mentioned is going to have the big clubs reaching for the cheque-book, and more modest clubs have players of similar quality in the main

It's all going to be a ****ing **** storm. We will be in there with the rest. The one big worry for us would be if Gao goes tits up in his finances

It is worrying although the newspaper is not known for it's quality of journalism. As OFYNS states, everyone is in the same boat and I cannot see there being much transfer activity until there is certainty that football will resume. You can appreciate why there is an urgency to kick-start the season to sweep up the television rights but it is also interesting that Saints have not been chasing up season ticket renewals. None of the e-mails I have received seem to mention renewing your season ticket.

I've completely gone past caring if I'm perfectly honest. AFC Southampton in the 9th tier? Bring it on.

**** elite football. **** the Premier League.

I'd suggest that there is one, very big, reason why the club hasn't mentioned ST renewals so far...

Some clubs opened discussions on ST renewals before football was put on hold. So it's only right that those clubs continue those discussions during the pandemic (eg if there was a early bird discount window scheduled to close on 15 May). But for clubs who hadn't yet started those discussions, the thought of doing over the past two months is ludicrous. I really wouldn't be reading anything more into it than that. No-one can even say if fans will be able to attend matches next season.

So I disagree; I don't see anything "interesting" about Saints not mentioning renewals. It's plainly obvious why.
