    If it was gonna spike up it would have happened by now. VE Day was over 2 weeks ago, and that was when I saw loads of ppl mixing and not observing social distancing. I'm not being flippant about COVID-19, the threat is still there but we all need to use common sense and stay alert.
    I've been working since the 'lockdown ' in a depot of over 100 staff. Weve had 2 cases and as fas as I'm aware not 1 has succumbed in the last month.

    Cummings keeps saying he was covid negative but was then claiming the desease affects vision, hence his hour long test drive.

    So, if he didn't have it, what was this illness that meant he could barely walk and should we be worried.

    And where did he get this 'expert medical advice' he keeps banging on about ...

    ... was it f**cking Google <doh>

    Seriously I thought the reporters let him off lightly, they were piss poor.

    Exactly this. There are loads of contradictions and holes in his story. He seemed to backtrack on whether his mrs even had Covid when someone said it was irresponsible, after spending ages telling us they were both showing symptoms before the drive. She either had it and it's incredibly reckless, or she didn't and the trip was based on a false pretence.

    Then there's the fact that someone so intrinsic to the government didn't take any of the reasonable steps you'd expect:

    Didn't seek medical help
    Didn't get tested
    Didn't tell his boss he was going to be 250 miles away potentially for the foreseeable future
    Didn't seek any alternative childcare arrangements that would avoid having to drive to Durham.

    Honestly if he gets away with this the country is ****ed. We as Sunderland fans know what it's like to have some mealy mouthed liar smugly stonewall questions because he knows that he holds all the power. We also know what it's like for someone to abuse that power and serve their own interests over that of who they claim to serve.

    **** Cummings. **** Johnson. I don't believe any of his excuses and they weren't accompanied by reasonable steps to avoid the most drastic one.

    Johnson was ill when scummings spoke so possibly valid. First it was in case him and his wife (who incidentally worked alongside Johnson at the spectator) both became ill. Next its because of threats outside his house - first there is a lockdown (well for some) so may be able to spot someone hanging around outside the house and obviously no10 staff do not have access to security. Ffs the man is full of sh*te

    Also he said they could check his phone to see if he was in Durham the second time. He did not offer that they could check his phone for the Barnard Castle visit. The GPS would tell people exactly where he went and for how long
