In the first at Vichy I like Makatotonbokiri with Gerald Mosse up. Has faced some stiff tasks before dropping into claiming company today. Worth an each way bet for me.

    Good luck

In the last it could be another winner for Gerald Mosse when teaming up with trainer Dupré for whom he rode many Aga Khan horses in the past.

In the upcoming tierce at Vichy I'll take a chance on Nadeem Alward. A very speedy frontrunner who is best suited over 5 furlongs. Christian Demuro is an eyecatching jockey booking.

In the 3.45 at Vichy there was very little quality of form thus far. The betting was tight between Katafonic and Nehou.

Looking at the form so far, Nehou didn't show much first time up but improved to take 4th place next time. Katafonic has had just the one start and finished 7th that day. You could argue that Katafonic has more scope after only one start and the Iffraaj colt can be expected to progress but that race has seen all six runs since resulting in unplaced efforts and the 1-2-3 in the race were all unplaced as favourites for their races. I don't like the look of that despite him seemingly stronger in the market. Nehou was 4th to Twist in a maiden last time and the winner went on to be favourite next time and although beaten did finish third in a better looking conditions race at Longchamp. The runner up from the maiden Nehou ran in last time went on to win a maiden next time and the 6th home was only beaten half a length when runner up in a handicap next time. It looks a more solid line of form to me. Nehou has been gelded and looking at his breeding the 6 and a half furlongs he ran over on debut was never going to be adequate for him, hence the step up to a mile on his second start. Any help the gelding operation gives him makes him the pick for me at 5/2. If nothing else gelding him gives him two stones less to carry today. Ooh er missus.

    3,45 Vichy Nehou 5/2

Oh well, again opposed the bad looking favourite successfully but only 3rd for my one.

Nehou just seemed to take forever to pick up but he was staying on well and looked like he would be second but was just demoted to third by a neck in the closing strides.

The winner did it nicely enough but Vasco De Gama had been 6th in a race that hasn't been working out so far on his sole start to date. In addition, according to the ATR website the trainer had not had a runner since the 20th of January but checking the Racing Post just now I see that this was bullshit. The Racing Post are not to be trusted either mind you. Like ATR they said that the going was soft at Vichy but they later changed the story to the ground being Good after the 5th race. That takes a bit of believing for me. Sometimes I feel we punters are poorly served by the Racing data providers.

I see the bookies pal was at it again today.

I thought Anobar had run eight times coming into today but she has actually had ten starts. Still a maiden and often fancied to break that tag she was out again in maiden company today. Made favourite again, could she pop her cherry? No, she was second and remains a virgin. Sired by Anodin, I reckon her followers will be feeling they should have called the horse Anadin.
