I am happy with Costa. He looks a dangerous player and was looking more and more like a £15 million player with every game. I think he would be better on the left though where he could use his pace more naturally without having to cut back as much.
Exactly and there will be appearance clauses etc. So if we did sell then it would be a different settlement. I for one don't think we will sell him.
If that is the case and we decide we don't want him, why would the buying club not push for the same if not better deal?
I’m not sure we’re arguing. I’m asking why buy him and immediately sell him as some have suggested (particularly at less than we have to buy him for).
We won’t sell him, Bielsa likes him and he’s been starting to look like the £15m player we signed - finally. I like him too, and with the Bielsa improvement factor he could be one of our best performers next year in the Prem, assuming we get there. Who knows, we might turn a profit on him, directly or indirectly.
There could be a player merry go round yet once this Corona crap has settled down. Sterling is on his toes like DeBryne is at Man. City, if they are out of Europe next season they are gone, Harrison back to City, Costa on his correct side which is on the left and will look the part. Bamford..... see ya later, big Kev in, don’t sell Philips, he is worth more!! especially when he plays for England. Casilla nye bye, French lad in Meslier Cooper gone...... not good enough, Ayala in spend the bucks on White, starting to look a force again IMO
In regards to Costa I think £15m is going to prove to be an extortionate amount after what COVID 19 has done to sport
Agreed. I've been quite a harsh critic of Costa. Was never sure if Helda or Hilda was going to turn up. And yet, I have to say in his defence that he was definitely getting there, and I think he might be even better in the PL. Zippy passing is not his game, so it's taken a wee while to adapt. If we had to let him freely express himself, he might look better, but the team wouldn't. I'm optimistic.
