Any more news about the League One season? Seems to have gone very quiet.

Apparently Wycombe think it's impractical and dangerous to continue playing so they'll be voting not to play out the rest of the season ...

... but, if that's decided, they want to continue playing in the play offs because it's practical and safe.

    I think we'll agree that's fair.

It’s like turkey’s voting for bigger Xmas celebrations, I suggested that the vote was flawed - this proves it and anyone who voted against Playing the season out should not!!! Be allowed to participate in the play offs .

Could not agree more, its all or nothing imo., the season was shafted with the Bury/ Bolton fiasco, so I am not holding out too much hope that they will get it right this time alas.

General football , what’s behind the idea of playing neutral venues ? Only thing I can think they’re thinking is you advertise Safc v Portsmouth at SOL , but play it at Portman rd , and by the time the virus realises there’s no one at SOL , it won’t have time to get to Ipswich

Are we ever going to get the EF L to make a decision about our league this season?
This is more ridiculous than the Covid saga on the other thread.
Let the fans get prepared for next season as we're well into the close season now, it's unbelievable

The people running EFL1 are incapable or unwilling to make any decisions until the Premier League followed by the Championship have sorted out their resumption’s, then and only then will they decide what they want to do and my feeling is that they will bottle the correct course of action by following EFL2 and cancelling the rest of the season . Wonder if Wycombe Wanderers will have the balls to say they will take their place in the play offs after saying they don’t want to play to finish the season , if they do it will be a terrible indictment on the club which they will carry for years to come - quite rightly !!!

There's some good points made from Deeney in that. I suspect that the BAME stats are heavily influenced by poverty so might not apply as much, though I'm not certain. But regarding his family, he is right and hopefully clubs are considering the individual feelings of their players rather than putting them under pressure to return. The heart stuff is interesting as well, just because there is a perception of footballers being fit and healthy, isn't a guarantee that they are.

What is the correct course of action? Is continuing the season the right action if 5-6 clubs in the league point out that it will result in them entering administration due to the extra costs without income?

None of this is fair tbh.

What is true is that dragging this out is helping none of the clubs.

The people who are paid to run the league, and make decisions, should actually do that.

At the moment we're no further on than we were when football stopped.

Totally agree with this. My point was about what the "correct course of action" is.

I'm still not sure that it's completing the season to protect some perceived integrity if it results in teams going bust.

But as you say, the EFL should be getting feedback from all club and make a decision based on the information at their disposal. The complaints of an individual club shouldn't matter, but they have to listen to clubs and try to do the right thing by the majority.

Their are still issues both at the top and bottom of the league, Tranmere being a prime example. They stand a fair chance of getting out of the bottom three, but if the league is curtailed they will be unjustly relegated. The curtailment of the non leagues is still a major disappointment to many clubs with issues unresolved, such as Barrow, who should be promoted in to EFL2, still not knowing what is going to happen.

How are we supposed to keep two metres apart when every man is now walking around with a giant erection because the football is coming back?
