    Asante hardly 'a rising star' but young. Hayes at 31 to supplement Gallagher's mercurial skills. The Dons want £6m+ for Cosgrove but Derby and Leeds are looking at him.

    Pity. He was a decent goalie at this level. Apparently he has an affair with another player's wife and had to be sent away. Just a rumour.

    So, the Hams went for Randolph in the end. Losing Rudd would have left NE without a decent goalie: Crowe, Ripley and Hudson not up to the mark.

    Probably. One who has come through non-league footy. Just like a number of present (Vardy) and former (Ian Wright) England strikers. depends on whether he has learned from his journeys.

    It does look as though that is that for Winter 19/20 and that the only credible target was Sinclair. To some extent it does make sense not to disturb a squad which is on the cusp of success mid season. I see some of the richer clubs are going for foreign players. When NE brought in two foreign players mid-season, it was a disaster, making NE tumble from play-offs to mid-table. Foreign players who haven't played first team football for weeks need a full season to get upto game standard in a rigorous division.
