It's L1 that's the issue and that's why there will be new proposals from clubs in that division in particular.
Ultimately as per the EFL's Articles of Association it's the clubs who must collectively decide that they wish to make changes to the regulations. You would hope that common sense will prevail and the EFL boards proposal receives the necessary 51% to pass. If it doesn't then someone like Rick Parry would most likely resign as a matter of principle. In addition the anarchy that would follow as clubs tried to argue and then litigate for their own personal causes/circumstances would potentially be ruinous for the EFL as a whole. It's time to come together and as a collective find ways through all the problems that covid-19 will bring to the football industry. For example, there's probably not one club in the EFL that can financially honour the players contracts without matchday income from spectators. Solving that problem will need a collaboration from all parties and if agreements can't be found then there will need to be further rule changes on clubs entering administration and footballing debts being settled etc.
Hmmm. Perhaps. But I don't think you're right. I believe the 'golden share' was part of the agreement that seen the formation of the PL & EFL. Rick Parry was very strident in his statement that promotion & relegation would take place, as the FA had retained the right to govern the football structure in the UK, aka 'the golden share'. Could be wrong, right enough!
Will be interesting that's for sure. Have enjoyed watching the Bundesliga and it seems the best team prevails as there is no real advantage to playing at home. Quality seems to shine through as the players seem under less pressure and players who are not up to scratch stick out like a sore thumb. The absence of supporters is definitely a factor for the sides who are doing most of the defending as there is nothing vocal to lift the spirits when you've been under the cosh and are struggling to counter attack.
I watched some bits of it but hated the lack of atmosphere. However, watched some highlights today and imagined it being Leeds and it’ll do nicely. Will be a relief to get it done
Still not sure the season will be completed. As I posted earlier...what's the point of all the protocols around training if the players are still mingling with the general public doing their shopping etc. Seems an avoidable risk to me so why isn't something being done about it.
Probably the naivety of youth. Certain section of young lads everywhere seem to think they can’t catch it at their age. Didn’t grealish go partying at mc Cormack flat. Hardly responsible behaviour
A wind-up, surely? Derby and Leeds stunned after proposal to move their Championship match to a neutral venue - Southampton's St. Mary's Stadium. Both clubs vigorously opposed the plan. So Quest doing highlights. Thing in the article says that Sky can only show any team 6 times. I thought someone on here said that ALL games were on Sky! Perhaps I mis-read. https://motleedsnews.com/news/journ...hlights-will-be-shown-on-quest-each-matchday/
So who do we want promoted with us? My preference is Fulham, they’re poor without their main striker. Playoff Cardiff or Forest I don’t care, either alongside Fulham and it would be two teams I’d hope would finish below us in the PL I’d also hope it would mean we would get to pinch a player or two from Brentford and even WBA. Can’t see Brentford missing out even if via the playoffs, WBA look very nervy
........ One point out of a posiible 6 against us this season - what makes you think it would be any different next year?
