So, with the new rules on track and trace, I'd assume all players at these clubs must now isolate for 14 days (if the process was actually up and working.....) This really could put a spanner in any plans to restart the season any time soon
Yes. At last a date! Championship season set to restart on 20 June as coronavirus lockdown eases http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/52834579
I guess that after the long break it will be like a start of a new season, but with no pre-season. It will be very interesting!
Play Off Final around 30th July. Don’t book your holidays! https://www.skysports.com/football/...pionship-set-to-restart-on-weekend-of-june-20
20 players in the match day squad and 5 subs allowed. Given the supposed date for the playoff final it'll be a game every weekend and one mid-week game every week.
It'll be behind closed doors, so anyone know if they are going stream the games, even if only for season ticket holders?
Hoo’s,Ferdinand & warburton fuming over start up & had no consultation from EFL about date, same with other clubs not happy, can see there point
Only a theory but think the lack of intensity with no crowd will help the more technically-gifted sides which would include us just about.
BBC article about the restart uses us as the primary example of a club being 'appalled' by the restart...https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/52875186
Three Charlton players including Lyle Taylor don’t want to come back which could help us. He’s by far their best player.
20 June seems very rushed both in relation to the appalling UK Covid 19 situation, and also the likelyhood of injuries due to a shorter full training period and a longer break than a normal pre-season. Money talking again. I agree with a poster on LFW that a start in August when the PL finishes would give more time for training and Covid, and also more focus on the Championship, and they could go straight into a possible new season around the start of October.
I think a lot of the problem is that initially the EFL members were supposed to vote on 8th June re the proposed restart date, but then the EFL went and announced the 20th June giving the clubs only 40 minutes notice of their intention, worse still doing the announcement at 9pm on a Sunday evening...…...now where's that brewery?
