Sure i read that they had already agreed to some payments plus the Govt forced them to ( according to them so probably best to wait and see the actual minutes of the meeting ) as part of "project restart" however in the long term unless things improve rapidly a load of clubs are going to the wall or will need to restructure dramatically . The league structure of a 100+ fully pro clubs is unsustainable as it stands and the pandemic has just bought this to a climax rather than the drip drip of administration / reforming that has been happening so regularly in the last 10 years .
I'm not sure the PL can do much about this and honestly don't see any real desire among them to do so much rather a gesture every now and again to show they "care" .

I think a lot of restrictions on construction have been lifted recently. But if they can't do it now, I'm sure they can do it before the start of the 2021/22 season, whenever that may be.

I'm amazed that none of you read the club website for stuff you speculate on.

They've said construction and build programmes have been hit by the virus and as our particular project is an 18 month build which needs to be done between seasons, it has been pushed back 12 months and will be completed summer 2023 and not 2022 as originally planned.

Thanks. Point was that now would still be a better time to do it, and infrastructure is not subject to any FFP nor tax levies, as I understand it.

As said, I believe they've relaxed a lot of social distance for construction? They certainly seem to have done so for all the home-extensions and loft conversions that are still happening round where I live, and the station car park where I work.

Al that said, FSG have been persistently ****ing slow to get stadium work done, imo. I appreciate that I seem to be a minority of one on this, but they got the club at less than 50% of it's book price in 2010 (including £50m 'stadium debt) because it was a distressed sale and, according to Horton from RSB, they were able to imminently start work on a new stadium. Okay, they took their time to decide whether to build a new stadium or extend the current one, but I still think they unnecessarily dragged their feet over this. And I'm sure yet another delay to the Anny Rd is music to their ears.

As I say, Lady Linda apart, I'm not that impressed, tbh.

Yeh I know, it was a joke. They still have some form of social distancing though I believe but I doubt someone getting their extension done will have them fined for getting a bit too close.

One of the main things holding up construction is the supply chain. I don't know enough about it, just read a few bits and pieces.

If you factor in that since they took over we've been to every domestic and European cup final, more than once in some cases and winning a few along the way, not too shabby ......

Most construction shut down as building supply companies shut up shop. Gypsum for instance supply the majority of plasterboard and plaster in this country, once they stopped production builders merchants soon ran out of stock. Even for large projects there was no concrete being produced nor steelwork. All of the contracts I am dealing with ground to a halt as contractors either ran out of material or the site was such they could not social distance staff, or both.

Spurs with go-faster stripes. Yay.... <diva>

I still think that had that shyster Moores not took the extra shilling from H&G rather than the solid offer from DIC (yes, I know they weren't Sheikh Mansour or Abramovich, but they were solid and had the Dubai Royal family and bank behind them) we'd be light years ahead of where we are now.

I just feel we're sometimes supposed to feel grateful that FSG are not as bad as H&G: well, and sorry to sound like I feel entitled, but a successful, well-invested Liverpool can and should be in world's top five clubs (yes, I know we are now), but we should be that and have our new stadium or this one fully extended, imo. And as we can't extend the Kenny Stand or the KOP any further, as I understand it, we've now accepted that @62k is it for the foreseeable future. Well that won't keep us in the top five clubs for long imo, even with the 'new normal' of behind closed doors/restricted capacity for the next few years.

there is a long running job going on near where i walk the dog and one day as i went past there were 9 fellas shoulder to shoulder peering down a hole <laugh>
That was at the height of the lockdown and weirdly the rules now look better observed .

Comparing us to Spurs ... seriously <laugh>

The same for the rest of your post. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it but if you can't see the rise and rise and rise of this club over the past 10 years, where have you been. Our ground capacity won't alter our success or standing in the game in any way. It's not the size of your stadium that influences success, it's what goes on on the pitch and currently we're doing it better than anyone else.

I think you've been spending too much time on the PL board where it's almost compulsory that you make your point and follow it with a derogatory remark or personal insult of some kind <whistle>. Not that I've ever seen you stoop to insults btw.
