Big day today. Our world beating coronavirus strategy should see us push ahead of every large European country on every measure - tied with Spain on deaths per million at the moment, we’ll be smashing this by the afternoon presser (though of course it won’t be mentioned). And this is using the underestimated death figures that the government chooses to present rather than the higher (would be much higher if they were current) ONS figures! Brilliant, socially distanced high fives all round.

    ****ing shameful.

I really don’t know why the media (left wing included) aren’t shouting about the ONS figures more. Admittedly there has conveniently been a lot of other things to shout about the last few days.

I don’t know why the ONS figures aren’t integrated into the daily updates every week. Sure they are out of date but they are doubtless more accurate than the hand collected ones used by the government. And they are publicly available, from a government organisation, so they can’t be denied or avoided.

Perhaps these people are much cleverer than I give them credit for, and much more malign than I’d like to believe. They know that most people won’t care about the few things that are objective and that they can manipulate, or simply ignore and suppress, numbers that don’t suit them. The ‘scientific advisors’ who collude in this farce should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

That one is an easier mystery to solve. They aren’t included because they’re horrendous.

A member of the test and trace team, who's been on standby since it launched, was on BBC news this morning saying all she's done since she's been online is watch Netflix as she's not been assigned a single case in 38 hours worth of working, even though she's being paid £17 an hour....

Matty the handcock answered this last night, it has been because the number of positives is so low, that is why. Cause we are nearly out of the pandemic.

But that is daft...surelyworking backwards (to see and find where he got it from) and forwards (who he gave it too)...the numbers should rise exponentially. We were told the exponential growth was why the trace and track was stopped in March.

    Other reasons
Or....that the tests take so long to do that they are "outdated"...he did actually say that but we all thought he was talking about the absolute numbers
Or...that the people cannot give name and number of the people that have been in contact with...I really must ask the number and name of the Tescos till lady. If we only had a phone app (that worked)
Or...that people are refusing to name people.
Or that people will nit admit...because the symptoms have been so light that they do not want to admit they never isolated. ( I know a couple of people who have done this, a few weeks ago...itv was their livehood at risk)

    Absolutely outstanding.

Does your patch go up to Harlesden? Apparently 500 yoofs were having a street party there last night.

Can anyone remember the daily death rate when we decided to enter a half hearted lockdown?

Its not decreasing as fast as they would have liked
And positive tests/day are still at 1500, but they aslo think that too maybe higher
We are apparently are not coming forward for testing

Maybe herd immunity will work...at the cost of greater than 60,000 deaths

Antibody tests are available at last. The pharmacy near my work has them on offer at £175.

I would have been tempted to get one it they were a reasonable price. I thought they were supposed to be around £70.

No idea. If I was actually going to buy one I would have asked some more questions. Perhaps I'll go back in the interests of research.
