What I can’t quite get my ahead around is the fact that we are supposed to have made a profit this year. Why can’t that money be used to subsidise the drop in income rather than risk pissing off your customers. Or SD puts some of the money back in that he has taken from the club. I am sure some of us will feel that we are happy to support our club with what is effectively a financial donation but the club will also make significant revenue from streaming the games at £10 per feed. It’s very short sighted and an absolute PR disaster. I have cancelled mine and my uncle’s SCs.
‘The clubs cost base remains the same’ You ****ing furloughed you lying bastards, for a start. Its £10 or summat for a stream, and our seats work out about double that, it’s a joke. A family of 4 would be paying £80 plus for a £10 stream. I can see people chucking it in in droves. Only reason I don’t is I have always seen it as me ‘doing my bit’ for the club, but then, is the club seeing it or are these ****s pocketing yet more funds? The club is a shambles.
Both me and my son have cancelled our season cards,it felt horrible and I am sick to my stomach, but we'll both be back as soon as supporters are allowed.
I get the footballing viewpoint mate, but that’s exactly what we are desperate for, someone with a spine who knows how to run the club and keep it stable. To be fair, it wouldn’t shock me if he had a look, if he could get us back up he’d be printing money.
Thing is mate, he gets a fortune off the tv folk and spends nowhere near what he should. ( no way Joelinton was £40m). If he DID go to yourselves, he wouldn’t spend money out of his own pocket, he’s on the bones of his arse.
He’s about to pocket north of £300 million though mate. He could buy us for around £25, hoy £125 million on and have a Prem club again. Its exactly his form to be fair.
Done the same mate, for myself and my 2 boys. Like yourself not a good feeling doing it, but these pair of clowns need chasing out of town. They're taking the piss out of every single one of us.
I’ve got no doubt that there’s money to be made from your club. A bloke with a few quid to buy it, then another £20m to get you promoted with a half decent manager, and the money would flow in. Not Ashley though, he needs the money from our sale for his shops. Your club's ripe for a takeover though, going cheap with a lot of potential.
I genuinely fear for the future of Safc now Administration and points deductions? Playing the kids in the first team because we have sold all of our players? Another relegation?
Absolutely disgusted when I heard about this, season ticket cancellation was immediately sent, DD with the bank cancelled as well. I'm not going back until these twats are out. No way am I paying to watch a ****ing stream either. 35 years of my heart and soul, must have missed a couple dozen home games in that time (illnesses, work etc) and these pricks have sent me over the edge. Not even ****ing Wilkinson had me doubting my support
Still no response from the club following the backlash regarding the Q&A apart from a couple of one liners from Rodwell about listening to the fans. Surely they can't let this drag out over the weekend. WMS have put together a decent podcast on the issue. An interesting point around 28 mins about some text messages. Anyone any idea what they are? They seemed to imply that they wouldn't look good on the owners.
the jist is that while JR was at the EFL, he approved SD 's fit and proper test, and the 50m quid in SD's bank. Then we find out he'd been promised a piece of SAFC (3%) but because of conflict of interest he's had to wait til now to claim his prize. There's also a rumour that SD actually only showed 20m quid in his bank, so the inference is that JR somehow ' smoothed the way ' for SD's fit & proper approval. The text messages might refer to this stuff? all alledgedly .
Dear supporter, Following Wednesday’s season card announcement, we have listened carefully to your feedback and I wanted to update you on several points. We remain hopeful that the 2019-20 season will be played, but in addition to our commitment to refund supporters if it is curtailed, you will also have the option of a refund if the season is concluded behind closed doors. We also appreciate that many of you have already paid in full for next season and that our communication in this instance should have been clearer. To clarify, if you have already purchased a 2020-21 season card, you will be able to obtain a refund if you wish to do so. Whilst we remain in a healthy financial position, season card revenue will be the key when budgeting for next season, and like all clubs, it is very important that we generate any additional income that we can in these uncertain times. Throughout the EFL, supporters are asking the same questions regarding ticketing, but due to the uncertainty surrounding both the current season and the 2020-21 campaign, the majority of clubs haven’t been forthcoming in their response. Therefore, it was our intention to set out a clear plan moving forward that not only provided clarity, but also ensured that supporters were not penalised in any way entering the new season and during what is an incredibly difficult time for us all. Following today’s updates, all season card holders will now be able to make an informed decision as to whether or not they renew. In the event that you choose not to renew, your seat will be reserved, your loyalty points will be retained, and the club has committed to offering pro-rata season cards at a later date. Alternatively, those who choose to renew will do so on the understanding that no refunds will be given in the event that games are played behind closed doors, and that they will receive an additional streaming pass for the duration of the season. As a club, it is more important than ever that we listen to supporters and work with you. I hope that today’s update reflects my intention to do exactly that throughout my time on Wearside. We will continue to work closely with our supporter groups to clarify any outstanding questions, and I hope to see you all at the Stadium of Light very soon.
