Can't see it pal. Also, I can't see Leeds not getting promoted I won't lose any sleep with bitter rival fans having a whinge. We deserve a bit of luck...
How many more times can they postpone. Wonder why the championship seems to be getting a higher number than the pl?
The Championship could possibly delay resuming by about a week, any more than that and it's highly likely the season would be declared finished. That's why it's imperative that the EFL clubs agree next Tuesday as to how the final placings will be determined plus promotion/relegation should that happen. What's also apparent is that if the Championship fails to play a full season of fixtures and the PL does, then the bottom 3 in the PL will seek for relegation to be cancelled for season 2019/20. That scenario is being discussed at boardrooms throughout both the PL and Championship which is why resuming and completing both leagues is the most desired and some might say the only way to settle everything without a massive legal entanglement ensuing.
What if it was 24 players in the Championship who had picked up injuries in pre-season that would keep them out for a few weeks? Let's not get carried away. In terms of order of magnitude, it's a tiny concern. We're talking less than 1% of those tested, and not all of them are even players! As it happens, most teams will be ahead of the game anyway, with the long term injured becoming available again.
The resumption is based on it being safe to do so. If 10 or more are testing positive every week then that's way too high to be deemed an acceptable risk. Every player has now been tested 4 times and if they are taking the correct precautions to avoid contracting the virus then there shouldn't be anywhere near the number of new infections that we're currently seeing.
Wonder does some of that attitude originate from the top. I couldn’t but compare the attitude of qprs senior staff in stating they were no way ready to restart and the professional way Bielsa and his team have approached it
And how unreliable some of the testing can be: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-5...oronavirus&link_location=live-reporting-story 20%?
But it's not 10 players, is it? Staff included too, remember. Still only 1/10th of the sample. And it's the careless, stupid & unlucky who have tested positive so far. It will be a stark wake-up call for the others. And let's not mention the reliability of the testing! EDIT: Posted this, then read Davy's post (above). 20% !!! Wow, just wow!
The numbers percentage wise for footballers are very low. And depends on how you view it. If many more are positive than we know it lessens the fatality rate not just in the overall population, but also those that have it against those that die from it. Dare I say it, but more reason to start getting back to something of a new normality
I just noticed that the 3rd of June was world cider day. Hate the stuff myself, but for all of you who like it (Shako) enjoy.
My pick for the 3 best managers/coaches to date are, Revie Sgt Wilko O'Leary Before the socialist lefties stick their heads out of the mud, I'll explain why. O'Leary had us in Europe, and we did very well, also, he gave a lot of youngsters their opportunities, and it paid off.............It could've been longer if Ridley hadn't screwed everything up. Bielsa to date hasn't achieved anything yet, if/when we get promoted I believe he'll be on par with O'Leary. While we all want promotion, he hasn't achieved it yet but, if we don't fall at final hurdle then we'll be promoted. Someone mentioned Blackwell got us to the playoffs then screwed it up. Last season we let a lead slip and then screwed up in playoffs, did Bielsa do anything different to Blackwell? Leeds of London and others are suggesting Pirlo is worth 55 mil, no he isn't in my opinion, I think that figure is greatly exaggerated. Ben White has shown he's a far better CM, and defender than Pirlo, x10 (as I said would be the case) which is probably why Liverpool are circling around Ben White and not Pirlo for the past Month or so. Obviously Ben White impressed Liverpool and Pirlo didn't. Hopefully, Leeds can/should buy White asp, waiting for Barnsley to be relegated would get us White cheaper, which I think may be the plan, but we'll have to wait to see what happens, and what White wants to do.
