Wonder why Ashley's ownership at NUFC didn't have the same effect?

They may be ****s in their own ways but they didn't have a petty vindictive childish vendetta against their own fans.

Moving the hooligan element, again and again.
    Gategate.
    The away fans initiative.
    Concessions or lack of.
    The disabled.
    Airco arena.
    And the rest.

    Don't buy that.

They have made some horrendous errors and vindictive decisions.

Won't stop me supporting my club though.

Good for you, but the question was why hasn't Ashley's ownership driven away their fans. I gave a list of things he hasn't done but our owner did. Not even sure why they don't like him.

Main grievance: conspicuous under investment in the team/management, and siphoning millions out the club.

But no attempt to change the name to Newcastle Magpies, no attempt to close down the Strawberry pub and turn it into an Academy pitch, no attempt to fence off pedestrian routes on Town Moor, no imploring of fans to "doiee when they fackin' want, init", no going into a Premier League season with 12 professionals, plenty of spewing and power drinking but no conspicuous use of Premier League money to buy yachts.

None of the stuff the Allams have done have stopped me attending week in week out either. But I recognise that getting superior and hoity-toity with those who have been put off by the Allams' multiple excesses is not a good look.

I'd say the Allams are now guilty of that too.

Not sure about the siphoning money out, they're funded with £144m of debt from him, which was provided interest free.

But your not being 'superior and hoity-toity' with your views. They are views, matter of opinion, and some differ from others. Not superior or hoity toity, just different.

You really are a fierce defender of the Allams, aren't you. How does that happen?

Because, unlike you, I support the shirt, not from the pub or on internet sites but at the turnstiles. We've had a **** load of owners over the years and if I withdrew my support every time I didn't agree with everything they did I'd had thrown the towel in years ago.

If it was up to the likes of you we'd be called Hull City Teabaggers by now.

If it was left to those like you who brag about how long ago it is since they set foot in the KC we wouldn't have a club at all.

Because Ashley (whilst obviously not popular) is not in the same category as the Allams. I don't think Ashley did NUFC or their fans much harm - despite their claims. He certainly didn't try to change their name or charge kids and seniors the full adult price. In addition NUFC were a well established (reasonably) successful club having enjoyed big support for generations. It would take a lot to cut that level of support in half in the way that the Allams have done at HCAFC. Then again maybe if Ehab was in charge at NUFC who knows?

They didn't have 'big support' when City beat them under Dolan, 10,000 ? gate, as for being successful ? When ? Inter Cities Fairs Cup 1968 ? Hull City have been more successful then the Geordies over the last 10/15 seasons.
