I didn't think the discussion about car park capacity could be beaten, but the instructions on how best to clean your car has shot right to the top.

The part about different cleaning sponges and cloths was a particular highlight.:emoticon-0102-bigsm

That reminds me I must clean my car this weekend, it is a year old and I want to get into the habit of cleaning it annually, even if it does not need it!

It'd been a while since I'd cleaned mine so it was due the 'deep clean' ... this evening/tonight I finished off cleaning under the bonnet, all the covers and areas in there were wiped with warm water and then a small amount of wd40. After that I tried to remove more crap off the wheels with the new can of WD ... they'll need revisiting still. Then I washed the whole car again, wiped it down with microfibre cloths ready for polish and wax tomorrow, spruced up in and around the boot, and made a start on the windows and interior which will get the 'full valet'. The small dent on the roof is actually looking better now, it's visible still but only at a certain angle and not as bad as I feared, think the dirt was making it look worse. I'll t-cut the mark on the rear bumper tomorrow as well and see how that looks

Too tight ? That sucks. I'd get in touch with the manufacturer about that

Done over 150mile with it so I think it's just constant wear and tear as I've been hitting the bumps etc.

Good suggestion with manufacturer, will give it a tru but not holding any hopes.

I've been looking online for some epoxy resin for phones, see if I can patch it up. Only got about 10mths until I can upgrade

Why bother washing your car as it will only get dirty again ? Seriously have only washed my 10 year old Polo about 5 times . Have to do inside a bit more often as between the dog and a filthy chair going in it is always grubby .

Gt85 is good for the derailleurs and levers, shifters but I wouldn't depend on it for the chain.

It's decent if you're in a bind and need a quick and easy lube, but it doesn't last. A dedicated product is better, yes

Just been to get some 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper from Halfords to start repairing one of my alloys that I kerbed quite a while ago. Tried it out and the appearance of the wheel is now better, but the area while not as scuffed and having returned to smoother metal has lightened, so it looks like I'll need to get some painting stuff and clear coat, doesn't look like it needs putty or filler

I might try it on one of the forks on my bike which has a scuff from a crash. I'd have to repaint that all matte black though as the scuff is annoyingly on a section that's also white and silver. I'm tempted to take the entire paint job off really and go for the stealth matte black look all over as logos on anything bother me

On the way to Halfords I drove past three McDonalds all of which had long queues for the drive-thru blocking a lane of traffic ... madness, if you ask me

Pre-lockdown, we had fast too many McDonald's, KFC's, Burger King's, etc. Not had one since and I've no intention of going near them any time soon. Actually told the Mrs yesterday that we should use the lockdown to distance ourselves from fast food after lockdown

You'd think during all this that people might have had time to dwell on the nature of their reliance on corporate chains and realised that food/drinks they can make themselves or get from other restaurants is far nicer, much healthier and free of all the additives and chemicals, even pre-made stuff bought in the supermarket is several steps up from that stuff in all departments

Mate in work was on holiday last week so went for a bike ride, he is keen on exercise, a mile from home something happened. He does not know what as he can't remember, but he woke up in hospital with a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain. Luckily he was wearing his helmet or it could have been much worse. He has been discharged from hospital but will not be coming back to work for some time.
