They should have had more personnel to prevent ANY queuing at all on the roads - at their expense, not the polices. I just don't see why the wider communities ( majority who aren't interested) have to be inconvenienced to suit one business. Sincerely hope no one ever suffers the consequences of an emergency ambulance not reaching them in time because of a ****e food gridlock

I emailed Durham County Council on Monday to ask if they were speaking to/liasing with Macdonalds, bearing in mind what had been seen at KFC openings, and mentioned Consett and Stanley specifically because of the proximity to crucial roundabouts and the potential for local gridlock I suggested what they did at the waste disposal site with bollards on the road and marshalls to move vehicles on when the complex was at capacity. Their reply was that they would be willing to respond to a request for help from a business, but would not initiate anything, it was all down to the business. I put my concerns and council reply to Macdonalds who said that traffic control was one of the considerations in their reopening preparations. Didn't consider very well methinks.

Its something trading standards should stop. Its the whole food industry, well as you suggest, the big boys. Look at the big chunk of fish you see on the fish finger packet. All the steak falling out the end of a Greggs steak bake .

Been many years since I've eaten food from a McD's (or any fast food outlet) I prefer to make my own burgers-thanks . I got an ice cream from one in London years ago -never again.
I certainly wouldn't wish to eat anything from one nowadays, especially so with what's happening with the spread of the virus.

Makes my stomach turn that people were having to touch a what is a communal giant glass touch- screen to order their take away, seriously wtf!
How many have caught Covid19 from doing just that? For a measly crappy and insipid burger.

When you realise many viruses germs and bacteria on one of those screens, counters and tables etc!

I seem to recall a study where every one of the touch- screens was checked and everyone contained enough fecal matter on them to make you seriously ill.

They need a new slogan at the counter: 'Try our new quarter pound n'cheese' easy on Staphylococcus dressing' ... Enjoy & have a nice day.

I’m not a massive eater of McDonalds but enjoy when I have them.

I think the queues are more as a result of people liking that little piece of normality and I can completely understand folk for that.

I have a Macdonalds about once a year and when I do it reminds me why I only have one once a year.
Mind this photo made me laugh more than anything in ages at its daftness. It was ridiculous how much it tickled me 97639F72-E4DB-4F3C-9105-DA21CF0AD7F2.jpeg
Who would stand in a card board cut out car to get to stand in a drive through queue.
