Cardiff City, 9 games to glory, is it possible? How will a strong city squad cope with empty stadiums? Home to Leeds and away to Preston will be a big ask in the silence. Should be an interesting and unique experience.... is it possible to make the playoffs? :emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool:

    Leeds (H),
    Preston (A)
    Charlton (H)
    Bristol City (A)
    Blackburn (H)
    Fulham (A)
    Derby (H)
    Middlesbrough (A)
    Hull (H).

It's going to be a 9 game handicap mini league. Points already on the board should carry the top clubs through - it's theirs to lose.

No idea how it will work out and I expect we'll get some wacky results turning up across the board. It's all about us doing the biz and hoping those above us don't.

Will, I think we'll need more than 15 to be sure of crossing the cut off point unless a few above us blow up - more nearer 20 from the 27 on offer.

Is that possible? Dunno, but as long as we have a right go at it instead of just fizzling out I'll be happy.

As OS suspects there’ll be some unexpected results all over the division. IMO all pre lockdown form is a thing of the past. It’s all going to be like a new season but with as OS states a handicap situation.

Plenty of 6 pointers to throw into the mix.

    Leeds (H), WIN 2-1
    Preston (A) LOSE 0-2
    Charlton (H) WIN 1-0
    Bristol City (A) DRAW 1-1
    Blackburn (H) WIN 1-0
    Fulham (A) LOSE 0-3
    Derby (H) DRAW 1-1
    Middlesbrough (A) LOSE 0-1
    Hull (H). DRAW 2-2

12 POINTS - I don't think that's enough, so don't expect to find me hanging around outside the stadium on the final day

Just had a quick look at the table as it stands - I'd actually forgotten over this past 10 weeks just how close this all is!

Wurzel City 1 point ahead of us and Jack City 1 point behind. Millwall above us just on goal difference (how the hell has Rowett done that?), and Blackburn, Derby and even QPR still on our heels.

Preston must be the obvious target, but even Forest and Brentford are vulnerable if they don't start back on the front foot - a defeat for either and they could start wobbling. All in all, we've just got to accumulate the points ourselves and let the others do the worrying.

Something wrong here - I feel uncomfortable. We're starting to talk football again.......<laugh>

Weird isn't it? All ifs buts and maybe. The first result will determine such a lot.

Much of this will come down to how fit players have kept themselves the last couple months and how quickly managers get their team up to speed. Another factor will be the depth and quality of the squad. With games coming thick and fast, a teams bench and beyond will be instrumental. Some teams will be near the top as they've kept their 1st team fit week in week out, but have little beyond that. Being able to bring on the maximum number of subs and rotate players without dropping standards will maximise the points.
As was said before, form up to lockdown goes out of the window.

Fitness physically is one thing but it’s how in tune the players are with the playing of the game which is equally if not more important.

Players need to be constantly training and playing so their passing and movement, control and touch, tackling and blocking as well as their instinct and sharpness are up to speed.

And their interaction with each other. Understanding of who is going to do what and when is so important.

Given travel restrictions still imposed how are you going to get out of Wales for the away games? Also you play us at 12.30 pm which means it's an overnight stay, are hotels going to be open?

Okay so it's empty stadiums but all of our midweek matches are at home and I think this will be an advantage to us. I think it is possible to make the playoffs Masky.
Also, with hotels closed, any idea where the players will be staying before matches?

Where will the players stay IB pal? Easy one that round st Masky’s place in Llandaff of course, where the grass grows coarse, and men are built like the proverbial horse.....mmmm! Gary Madine aka, goal machine was always at the door asking about Doris.....he could always score there it seems! Enough of this filth already, yes City could get a shot at this! :emoticon-0103-cool:
