The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. Donald through and through.

Things are again in the balance at SAFC but unless a better offer comes in, we have to back SD, and not make a bleak situation worse by forcing his hand at this point in time. It is sad loosing Bali Mumba as looks likely, but not the end of the world, and we still have some useful assets left if they are given a chance to play to their strengths, and this is my biggest worry as those currently running the playing side of things, don't appear to have the nous or the gumption.

I agree it's difficult and we might all have to understand that it may be counter-productive, but to basically be blackmailed into supporting him because he's holding the club to ransom is just not ideal.

    It is simple for me..

Donald does not have the funds to run us successfully and get us promoted thus we are stuck in the turd division..

Atm we have a poor team and only a so so manager, the chances of getting promoted next season are not high..

    Is my strap line right?

Nah yer alright, I’ll continue to do anything I can to get him out. Until I see money spent/returned and ambition shown then these clowns need booting out.
Taking the piss out of each and every safc supporter.

You're right, but remember he's got the £9m from FPP which doesn't seem to have been used on anything as of yet. So he can use that to get us through this period and easily cover the loss of revenue without actually having to reach into his pocket for it yet. If that covers the circa £3m then it's still a gamble (as ultimately he'd have to pay 74% of that back if it fails as its Madrox who owe it) but for now it's costing him nothing. If he sells now he loses money, probably a lot of money. If he takes this gamble then he might get to a point where he can break even, or possibly make quite a lot. We know from the Grigg episode that he's hardly one to cut his losses and doesn't exactly play it safe. He's a gambler, and one that can't afford to lose the sums he might be looking at currently, he'll have another go at it and foolishly think that his assembled team of incompetents can get us up. This isn't a complete guess either.

He's certainly not rich but I still don't think finances are a big problem. He's provided the largest ever playing budget twice and blown the record signing fee out the water.

I also think the £11m they owe and the £9m from FFP was deliberately engineered as £20m to spend on promotion to championship.

The actual problem for me is the people he puts into key positions to spend that money. They are the failures in my opinion.

What do you call rich? Meant to be worth 80 to 200m. Richer than me

I think he can handle the Covid financial repercussions provided football is played, assuming he still has the carrot that promotion would yield a healthy profit on a sale.

Agree with @Guinness Guzzler that he clearly sees this as an opportunity where he can spend less than he intended but get more for it.

Unfortunately, we've seen how that turns out and I don't have any confidence that he'll get us promoted.

Promotion?, with a failing seats sales revenue, a squad losing another 10 players soon maybe which who will be swapped for inferior players no doubt, no direct links with the fans anymore, 3 chancers in the wing. Can't see how this will work.

We still have some useful assets. Are you sure you are supporting the same Sunderland?

FFS - Surely not!!! We are going to be languishing in the league for many years to come. We need to retain what little quality we have left which is next to nothing.

I'll flip my ****ing lid if we sell him off mind. Just did that keep, retain or bin thread the other day, and Willis was the only one I was absolutely certain that I want to stay, the only one I think can definitely make the step up if we get promoted (and J McLaughlin but he's likely off anyway). He should be part of our team for years to come. There is **** all chance, no matter how much we get for him, that they'll spend the money on adequately replacing him and further improving the squad. Instead we'll get some old **** knacker who played (was on the bench) in the championship recently, some will say "he's got good experience" and he'll be utterly ****ing dog **** like most of the rest of the ****ing **** these knob heads sign

Sorry if this refers to someone who is on here, but I saw earlier someone on RTG saying that his ceiling was probably only the Championship, and it just blew my mind that there are still divs in our fanbase who can't comprehend that he's basically one of about 3 players we have who could play at that level.

We're in League One, if someone can play in the Championship we should be building a team around them.
