If any of you have been watching Eriksen tonight, you will have noticed that Man Utd need that sort of player, who's able to be creative in the centre of our midfeild. I wonder if SAF was watching the England vs Denmark game, if he was, I'm sure he saw how Eriksen played tonight. I don't think we should be buying players for ridiculous amount of money and them not being able to achieve. He's only 18 at the moment and hasn't developed much as a player but giving him a few more years would surely mean that he would be ready. I honestly think Ajax would be willing to negotiate. He's only appeared 30 times this season and scored 2, I know that doesn't look good on paper but Eriksen has a lot of potential as a young Danish player. I think Eriksen was Denmark's "Best Technical Player" by far tonight. For those of you that don't know him. Name: Christian Dannemann Eriksen Age: 18 Current Club: Ajax Number: 8
Lost 3 nil. Terrible. 10 withdrawals but the men who took to the field really let themselves down. Scotland's line up was strong and I reckon they'll pick up some decent results from here on in but we were a shambles and no one staked a claim for a place. As it was a friendly, I'm not exactly devastated but I'm disappointed nonetheless. Very few positives to take from tonight.
I only watched the highlights so I don't know too much about this guy. has anyone actually seen anything more than just last nights friendly? Any Ajax games?
don't forget - wilshere is the new messi, ineista and pele roled into one. he single handedly beat denmark all on his own last night, did you see those two goals he scored? they made maradona look ****e. apparently according to various arselona fans he made 25/27 passes - that constitutes a trophy in their world!
He was more eye catching, but I wouldn't say he "owned" him. He was playing in a different role to Wilshere. In my opinion what Wilshere does (dictating the play/ tempo from deep cm positions, whilst tracking back) is a harder role than what Eriksen does (second striker, creating chances, little defensive duty) But Eriksen does look very, very good, will be lots of teams vying for his signature. Hope we at least go for him.
Now you know how we felt when everything Rooney did was held up to be amazing and revolutionary. "Oh look he tracked back, lets give him a 5 minute analysis on MOTD", "OMG he scored a tap in, we should show that goal every hour on SSN".You have had this for a week, we have had it for a whole year. I do actually find the way everybody mentions Wilshire (who had a solid unremarkable game) annoying myself so I'm not being hypocritical, they are just building him up until he fails and is cast as a scapegoat.
