I got spanked by my psycho headmaster at the school in Sunderland that was an all boys school and wore green blazers back in the 1970s for writing “Mrs G*** is a twit” on the back inside cover of my jotter. I was the grand old age of seven. That school has got a lot to answer for.

I always thought he was slightly overated. Dived the same way for all the German penalties in 1990 but was nowhere near saving them.

he was also offside ! the most contrarversial ? football moment in history, oh wait Lampard's goal against Germany, or Beckham/Rooney sendings off, the dissallowed goal even the queen said was a goal but that day in 86 was a disgrace, we were cheated out of the world cup and we would have drawn if that handball did not count, had that been the other way round the ref would have got clobbered. By the way Jimmy did you 'wallpaper' your jotters lol there was a fad in the 1970's of doing that to your work books, the kids with money used fablon (sticky back plastic) as it was known on blue peter ! i bet a few of you older lads did it, they used gaffer tape to hide the advertising on boxes and bottle etc as well i found that barmy.
