I found it depends on the style of jersey you go for. The 'limited' jerseys with twill fabric name and numbers are more 'fitted' and more of a normal fitting to UK standards. The 'game' jerseys, which I now try to avoid due to the screen print name and numbers (but the one I have coming is a 'game' jersey because it's the only one NFL Europe shop do) are a very big fitting and seem to be designed to go over clothing. Now that I think about it, I maybe should have ordered a medium lol.

Just watched good documentary called Alex Smith - Project 11. It covers his career with a good chunk of it on his injury. Well worth a watch.

Staggering what he went through and even though I'd heard a little about how bad it was it came as a shock to actually see it.

It's repeated on Thursday night on BTSport 2 at 22.15 and again on BTSport ESPN on Monday at 23.15.

Yeah I dug it out on YouTube the week it came out. I was super interested because I reckon that Smith is a little underrated and if he'd had a stable early career could have won super bowls.

His leg after the infection was like an injury in Afghan, just pure dead flesh and I think that if it had been someone outside of his job and wealth, they would have just advised him to have it taken off.

I rate him highly as well Kitten and think he was harshly treated by 49ers and Chiefs (they clearly didn't trust him enough and maybe it knocked him so he couldn't show his true game even though he still performed to a good standard) and was firmly of the impression he would carry the Redskins to the play offs in that poor NFC East and help them push on a little. I do also think Gruden was piss poor coach as well but Smith would have been a very good player for him if not for that shocking injury.

Nope, not happy! My email says pre-order for delivery from 29th May but nothing received yet and no tracking info from NFL Europe shop. I emailed them yesterday and although it says they will respond within 24 hours I'm still to hear back. The website now also says pre-order for delivery from 21st August which isn't good.

Yeah I agree, even more so given that I pre-ordered it on May 1st and we were well in to CV at that point so surely they will have known if they would make the pre-orders by then. Even if it was a certain number they were able to get hold of, they must have had an initial order at that point.

Surprised it took 3 months for Cam to end up in New England. Absolute no brainer for the Pats, paying him back up money and on a 1 year deal, giving him a chance to prove himself with no risk to them if he doesn't.

I wonder if Belichick's arse dropped a bit thinking about an offseason with no prep for Stidham.

Hopefully his injuries are behind him and Pats have got ourselves a real bargain! I would still like to start with Stidham, after hearing so many good things, and see how he does, and if he fails miserably bring in Super Cam.

I think that it will be Newton v Newton for the starting role and Stidham will only get the job if Newton loses the battle with himself.

Given the Pats lack of cap space Newton's guaranteed can't be far off league minimum.

I was expecting Kaerpernick to end up at Gillette instead .
Complete bargain if he gets fit and he didnt really have many options looking at most teams QB roster .

Redskins probably changing their name before the season starts, which is good.

    Current favourite is 'Red Tails'

The ones from DH gate size down massively. I’m an xl in most gear but large is more than good enough. Lockdown as been canny for me and lost a couple of clem so I have a couple of XL bucs jerseys like tents on me. A home Evans one and a grey Brady one. Thankfully ordered L for my Gronk one.

George Preston Marshall, the guy who named them, and the fact that it's a dictionary definition racial slur. Those two things combined and the fact that I have had many uncomfortable work conversations about it's use make it easier for everyone.

Yeah fair points and fair enough. GPM was far from the best role model and completely understand why they removed his statue. However, I thought they had Native Americans involved in the early years though with William "Lone Star" Dietz being involved very early on with the franchise and an Indian design the logo in the 60's/70's which was also given approval by a senior representative of Native Americans? If they do change name, I hope they don't change colours. It's the best colour in the league IMO and would be a shame to lose it. My brother is a Redskins fan so I know a little about them and he always likes to tell me there jerseys are better than the Patriots... But then I like to remind him when the last time both teams were successful was :1980_boogie_down:

What do you think to the Cleveland Indians exploring renaming themselves as well? First time I've really heard that they've had similar issues to the Redskins but in fairness I don't follow Baseball closely so most likely why, although I do like the Major League and Major League 2 (Ok 2 was pretty ****e <laugh>) movies lol. Surely 'Indians' isn't that bad a name though...

I've just had a Google of 'Redskin' and found this from the online dictionary.com. Seems to have started off harmless and maybe even respectfully to Native Americans but changed throughout the 19th century.

The date and origin of this term is in dispute. Evidence seems to show that in the 1760s, French colonists in the Mississippi Valley translated a Native American spoken term into the French language as peau rouge , which was then translated into English as redskin. Through the early part of the 19th century, American Indians continued to use their native word self-referentially, and it was translated into spoken and written English as redskin with no derogatory connotations, even as a term of respect. However, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, within the historical context of white-Indian hostilities, use of the term redskin was associated with attitudes of contempt and condescension. By the 1960s, redskin had declined in use; because of heightened cultural sensitivities, it was perceived as offensive. Yet use of the term survives in the names of some sports teams.
