Great Post mate. I'm feeling quite emotional tonight and that's topped me over the edge ... ... Grandpops was a real character and a decent bloke. I don't have any problems, just realised I might have no one prepared to risk flying down, can't blame them tbh.
Mrs. A and I have just listened to that (again) and we're awfully glad that you stirred our memories . . . . Hexham after 5 pints and having no choice other than to drive home (well to Slaley Hall)
Table booked in the local, beer garden, for 5pm tomorrow. Looking forward to a few cold ones and some decent grub. We should avoi the riff-raff, as nicely tucked away, neighbourhood boozer www.thelionteddington.co.uk
I’ve ironed 3 shirts with varying levels from smart to super casual depending on the weather. I’m ****ing sick of not socialising. I like out.
Have to admit I'm wanting to go the cinema a lot more than the pub. And with social distancing measures meaning less folk in there should make it a bit easier to sneak a couple of cheeky beers in. At that point I might just pretend I'm in the pub watching a film. That's a win win in my eyes.
The young girl was, I thought, amazing. Children, normally, seem to lack any form of coordination when attempting to dance but she certainly didn't.
I've just returned from Alan's House ('Sheels) with my brother (don't tell Mrs. A.), and they've got systems in place for protection (we needed to do a recce). Generally, it's a pub for 'older' (usually more sensible) people (I'm surprised that they let us in, too), so younguns won't spoil things, and we're going back in a minute If it gets uncomfortable we'll be away (Mrs. A. will be driving, having 1 half, then drinking tonic water until we get home. Either way, we'll (my brother and I) be having a liason with Mr. Fiddich when we get home
Most down here are opening on Monday. Still a fair few open, but not for me, I will leave that for the lads and lasses who have been stuck in the house all day off work and don't drink indoors, to enjoy. I have worked the full time as has Mrs Sauce and we drink indoors so it's not like it would be a massive thing to taste that 1st pint etc. I'm pissed with the whole thing tbh as at the start i had a lad who was petrified and would wear a mask constant and pretty much pleaded with everyone to wear a mask around him as he is Greek, lives over here, new born baby, can't travel home etc. Everyone refused but me, as i said if it makes him feel more comfortable, why not (Loads of others refused) Now they are all back at work and despite rules to keep apart etc, most are just flouting them. A bit of bitterness from my side as i had to cover their work as well as mine, so despite being one of the only ones in, i'm behind on my stuff and getting called out while others have had 10 weeks full pay (some with overtime as well as it went on average earnings). Everyone has come back an expert on Covid19 and questioning if it even exists. It's even got to the point where Mrs Sauce works in A & E and everyone asks what's going on. i now even lie and just whisper we are ****ed when the 2nd wave hits is what i have been told , just to wind them up
