Why is there more improvement in one lightly raced 3 yo over another ? Disagree , both are similar , it’s just down to the day , yard form points to LB .........over L !

Just noticed bet365 are doing each way in the coral eclipse and have therefore backed Deirdre at 14/1 to finish in first 3.

Didn't fancy it first 2 but 14/1 at quarter the odds is not too shabby..

Lazuli has had his manhood cut off since last year, which has seemed to have worked wonders. He improved for his first run which was over an inadequate 6f. Seems to be a real speed merchant looks stronger this year too And imo fits the bill of another blue point too. But we will see

And the yard fomr over the last two weeks too. Trainers have had the exact same winners but Charlie has sent out 15 less horses. Therefore on a winners front lazuli is coming from a better form yard

I will go for LB in the 1.50, getting that close to Bataash over 5f is good enough for me.

That will be some sprint. Dear old Caspian Prince (lovely to see him described as a speedball) ran a very fast time last time out. Strange to think he could be coming back to his best at 11 years old but he will surely have a crack. Both Liberty Beach and Lazuli have won over C&D in fast times. Couldn't split the two. I'm expecting a photo and will just watch and enjoy

I think Enable getting 3lbs so therefor 5lbs well in i think it is on ratings against Ghaiyyath wins this if 90% fit.

I think that Nass (#17 above) has correctly identified the long-term interest in today's Eclipse. Neither Japan nor his rider looked particularly motivated at Ascot, but the recent Japanese acquisition of a (substantial) share in the horse shouts out that the long-term objective is the Arc. Annoyingly, the bet I was going to recommend - back him for the Arc before he runs today - has effectively vanished from the market: his line has gone completely blank for that race on Oddschecker apart from a miserly 12-1 from Hills. There's some 16s on the Betfair exchange, but only to pocket money.

Long story short, I expect Japan to run well today, giving the two market principals a serious race, and perhaps even winning.

Gosden wins the French Derby with Mishrif. Victor Ludorum would of won but drawn one, very slowly away and decided to go around the lot of them, his run petered out the last 100 yards.
From my armchair pilot error cost VL.

I’m going with Japan in The Eclipse, for very small stakes. Others have already put a stronger case than me, but it’s all about price and he’s too tempting at 7.4 on Bf, against a filly who must be vulnerable today. Maybe.

It’s not really The Eclipse btw, is it?

The Summit was written off on this forum after his surprise defeat of Victor Ludorum at Chantilly in early May. Well he's now finished 2nd in two classics. He's not bad at all and looks very tough.

Mishrif's fairly impressive win is a first classic for Makfi's son Make Believe. A relatively cheap sire who has done well.

Frankie got too far back i think though today was not what it was about for them.
A fit Enable beats Ghaiyyath everyday.

Brilliant win, cost me by doubting him but I’m shocked that nothing went to take him on. Surely they’ve got to see if he cracks with pressure?

Hmm, did someone say Ghaiyyath was a 'dog'. Some 'dog'! Charlie Appleby said the horse had matured over the Winter, he certainly has. Sandown is a good track for talented front-runners, seen a few as it was a local track for me in my 'teens. Magnificent ride from William Buick; what a judge of pace for one so young. <applause>

Happy days! I have loved Enable, and I'm sure she will improve for today's run, but Ghaiyyath has to be backed until beaten. As for no one taking her - well they have all seen what Ghaiyyath can do, maybe a mob handed O'Brien team may shake him up a bit but there is no crabbing his run today.

Yes Swanny - Boris described him as a dog. I wouldn't mind a dog as fast as him :D
