I think if there's nothing by Friday, we have to accept it's failed or not going through. Barnes at the match is one of two things - moving on, or (much more likely) business as usual. The tone of Bruce suggested takeover failure. Previously he's had hints of optimism in his voice, purely as a Toon fan, but yesterday his answer was quite bitter.
Well we're mathematically safe now, so according to Roly's list we're in the window between being safe and the season finishing. Personally I think it'll be announced in the next week or two but we've all put our own theories up over the last 3 months only for them to pass by/be shot down....I don't think anyone's particularly arsed anymore......just as long as it happens.
It's this week. Interestingly, PIF has transferred capital totalling £750 million for their latest round of investments.
Like I say, if it's not this week, I'm not sure it's happening at all. Or at least I'll be trying to extract my brain from the whole thing.
That’s what I was initially thinking we Bruce. However either way he’s ****ed next season. If it goes through then he’s probably not going to be in charge. If it doesn’t then he knows we will sell max and probably miggy. So he’s effectively done his job. Quite well as well to be fair to him. Now premiership safety is resolved there literally isn’t anything that we know about that can hold up the deal.
Not even that. I think we just want it to be resolved one way or another so we can stop this weird hope carry on.
Bold claim. Many have been shot down when getting this wrong. Remember when Olly Bernard stayed it was done. Not heard anything from Him since.
I think we might get something this week but whether it’s what we want is another matter. It’s literally gone really REALLY quiet. Even for Ashley to be this patient it indicates it’s either one or the other.
Bruce doesn't want the takeover.. he would rather Ashley stayed... his words of wanting an answer are mainly down to curing his own concerns.
Agreed but does he want to stay if a takeover doesn’t go ahead. It’s gonna be a **** storm for him to deal with.
He’s in a good position really. Survival has been achieved which is what his remit was. With games to go. I think he has a year or even two left on his contract so he will be sorted financially either way aswell. I think everyone, even the journalists, are a bit bored of the whole thing now.
