This does seem to have legs. Versatile player and at 29 years old he's got bags of experience. I'd be happy with the signing of it's true.
Probably, it just seems to have stuck with quite a few today with some going as far as it's agreed. Like you say though probably nonsense.

Apparently Messi is planning to leave Barca next summer. Not saying we'll go for him, just thought its an interesting thing.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that Thiago wants to leave the club and they will look to sell him this summer. The Spaniard had been heavily linked with the exit door at the Allianz Arena, with his contract due to expire in 2021. p:nth-of-type(2)","sizes":[[8,8]],"hideOnSensitiveArticle":true,"relativePos":"after","additionalClass":"in-article","name":"div-gpt-ad-vip-slot","type":"VIP"}' data-gpt-placeholder="" data-type="gpt"> Liverpool have been linked with the midfielder, of whom Jurgen Klopp is a big fan. Now Rummenigge has told Bild that the Bavarians do not want to lose the 29-year-old for nothing in 12 months time. "He's a great guy on and off the pitch. We negotiated with him and met all of his wishes. "But Thiago Alcantara wants to leave. It looks like he may want to do something new at the end of his career."
Liverpool are battling Premier League rivals Chelsea to sign highly-rated Hoffenheim winger Nick Breitenbucher this summer, according to Spox. While Jurgen Klopp might have ruled out the prospects of two of the most talented German footballers of a generation moving to Anfield this summer, this quicksilver teenager could end the summer on Merseyside – even if Kai Havertz and Timo Werner won’t. Breitenbucher, a left-footed right winger who’s penchant for cutting inside has his team-mates referring to him as ‘Robben’, is yet to force his way into Hoffenheim’s plans and could be heading out of German football before he has even made his Bundesliga bow. Spox claim that both Liverpool and Chelsea are interested.
On the face of it, Thiago rumour is bullsh*t and doesn't make sense. Decent wad of money on an ageing player who is injury prone, and in a position which isn't high priority. Having said that, I do think there are legs in this rumour because a lot of people are reporting it and the local journo's haven't completely shut it down. He would be the ultimate luxury player for us. He is a world class player who is arguably the best central midfielder in the world. Works incredibly hard, wins the ball back well but his quality is on the ball. Having him in the midfield could see us perhaps evolving / changing our style next season from being reliant on full backs and centre backs getting the ball to front 3, to a style which gives the midfield more responsibility to create.
best central midfield player in the world is pushing it. De bruyne would probably have a word to say about that. i think yesterday’s game and even the city game showed that we do need something different in that midfield though. When teams sit deep we have no creativity in there to get the ball between the lines, and against city we had no one to dictate the tempo
Pretty much sums it up for nee tbh I was going to say exactly the same but suspect Jimmy means all rounder? KDB is more of a AM
Our plan A is a) full backs putting in a lot of a crosses, or expecting front 3 to produce moment of magic. Don't get me wrong - this plan works very well against most teams and I wouldn't be against us continuing to do it next season. But I do feel Klopp does like to tweak things each season; 17/18 - we were pure gegenpressing and counter attacking. Great attacking football but vulnerable at the back. Had Coutinho and then Ox providing that drive through the middle as well 18/19 - more stable at the back, midfield was more workman like. Fullbacks given more responsibility 19/20 - similar to 18/19 but playing with a higher back line to compress the space in the middle. Throughout these years, one thing to note is that we pretty much always struggle in European away games. We practically lose every game. Which is why I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp wants an option like Thiago to help dictate games .
I will never doubt Jurgen Klopp again regarding transfer, last summer he failed to buy big and he got away with it. Please let us trust his judgement.
I think that's the big thing for me. We've been very lucky once again. No major injury for Salah, Firmino, Mane, Robbo, Trent or VVD. It's not that I doubt him regarding transfers, but I still think we're a few injuries away from being absolutely toothless. I think when we don't buy, it's more so that Klopp has been told he can't buy rather than he doesn't want to - what manager doesn't want to improve the squad? He's the type of manager/person who will not speak out publically against the owners and will always play things down.
