Takeover (Covid-19/20)

I don't know why anyone would read anything into Bruce's interview, he's just bored of getting asked the same question every 5 mins. The reporters are incessant. Such a bunch of low lives, they aren't happy asking the question once, it has to be daily and constant. As we've discussed many times on here, the quality of journalism is at an all time low. Managers who have been around a while must be getting really tired of their approach now.

Its hard for Bruce. He knows a takeover helps the club no end. But he also knows it probably signals the end for him. Having done a good job, and actually played some nice stuff of late, he's entitled for the thought of such a brutal departure to be filling him with a bit of resentment.

Really though its still worked out great for Bruce. His work here, especially following such a fan favourite manager, has been good. One win in the last 5 games will see him surpass last seasons points total. Something most fans felt was improbable if not impossible. Obviously some who didn't want him are now classing him as lucky or finding other ways to try to do him down, but its just bitterness. Bruce stock will have risen in football circles as a result and he'll have no problem getting another job. It might even be a PL one or high end of championship. Villa left his reputation slightly tarnished and Sheff Wed was short lived, reigniting his lack of loyalty debate. So his time here has been exactly the fillip his career needed.

I reckon this is gonna be an end of season thing to avoid the negative press if it does happen. That way they can get some of it out of the way through the quiet summer months. We best prepare though, the gutter press are gonna be constantly bringing up and making up irrelevant stories should the takeover happen. I'm in the 'not convinced' bracket though I must admit.

 

Agree re: Bruce, but if you want to bury a story you don't time it for when everything is quiet and the press have **** all else to talk about but a paper to produce everyday regardless
