Just had a £1.99 7inch dominoes pizza because I’m a cheapskate and when I opened the box there was a date in the mozzarella with two letters TO. TO clearly means takeover. Im not telling you the date because you won’t like it.
I missed a bit off earlier Today’s the day the teddie bears have their picnic...all sing along now It’s as relevant as anything else on the thread
So just to be clear, this is now week 15? Or is it 16 now? Where there's literally nothing but a pdf on Companies House? Yeah, deffo happening. Imminently shortly, I'm told.
As we await the impending takeover announcement I thought I would get creative and given the fact that MANU get a penalty every game now I wondered over the last 3 seasons how many had been awarded and scored. Please see table below. (Data taken from Transfermarkt) I appreciate we play attacking football with sometimes upwards of 75% possession and 25+ shots each game but SERIOUSLY 5 penalties and only 1 scored over the last 3 seasons. I really feel sorry for any players who have a penalty scoring bonus in their contract. Can we draw any correlation to the top 6 all having Olympic divers in their teams? I was going to setup a separate thread but thought **** it why bother. AWARDED SCORED MAN UTD 28 19 CP 24 21 MAN CITY 22 15 LEIC CITY 20 15 CHEL 15 15 LIVER 15 14 BRIGHTON 15 11 BOURNEMOUTH 14 12 EVERTON 14 8 ARSE 13 10 WAT 12 8 WHU 12 10 SPURS 11 9 SOUTH 11 8 WOLVES 7 7 (2 seasons only) NUFC 5 1 BURNLEY 4 4 CARDIFF 4 3 (1 season only) FULHAM 3 2 (1 season only) HUDDERSFIELD 3 3 (2 seasons only) STOKE 3 0 (1 season only) VILLA 2 1 (1 season only) NORWICH 2 2 (1 season only) SHEFF UTD 1 1 (1 season only) SWANSEA 1 1 (1 season only) WBA 1 1 (1 season only)
Fixed something for ya. Utterly astounding stats mate. VAR will no doubt have bumped the numbers up this season but not massively I wouldn't have thought.
I have a suggestion. Can we just lock this thread, but open it again each Friday? That way we only have to deal with one day of bollocks instead of 7. Same result, less effort.
Not really. You'd have to drill down really far to find out the reasons why, and support any bias argument. You'd have to assess type of players they have, how much possession they have, where they have that possession, how many dribbles trying to go past a man, etc etc. To be honest the whole penalty has long been a red herring for me in terms of bias.
It proves that as an attacking unit when you compare us to the rest of the PL we don’t either a) get the decisions or b) we don’t get in the box anywhere near enough to win penalties. Either way it is shocking we have only scored 1 penalty in three seasons.
After Burnley downwards most teams have not been in them PL for the three seasons. So we can ignore them. But it does look bad whichever way you look at it.
