I know a few people who seem to wear this like a badge of honour. Bit weird. It’s purely by chance that you are in a job which could carry on through the lockdown. It doesn’t make you special or more hardworking ffs.

  4. Too many people on this site pussying around this subject.

There are a lot of things I could say, but I am going to stay silent, as there appear to be a lot of insecure and juvenile people on this board who are unable to listen to opinions that differ substantially to their own.

  5. I had no choice but to carry on, since if I didn’t work, I wasn’t getting paid. There is no safety net of Government payouts for me.

The only fortunate aspect in my favour is that there has been enough work for me to undertake, and for clients who are able and prepared to pay for it.

I’m not in the clear. If this lockdown madness ends up taking us into a global recession, I could be in very serious trouble, since my line of work will be directly impacted.

I am not the only one, and I know of many self employed people who are in my position, and who are extremely worried for the future.

I choose to laugh in the face of adversity. If I have made any error with my comments, it’s in assuming that others are able to do the same.

Or maybe it’s just that you’re just talking like a ****, when you imply that those on furlough, through no fault or choice of their own, have somehow been taking the piss.

You’re self employed, you’d have got furlough payments based on your declared annual profit. So that’s utter bollocks for a start off.

So drop drop the sanctimonious attitude, Tobias. It’s gone beyond the point of being dull.

Worrying times for all of us mate. My line of work is pretty safe at the moment, but next year could be problematic with councils struggling for cash.

I've been working throughout and am very grateful for that tbh, one of the lucky ones.

Reckon I'd have relapsed into drinking most days and shoving my body weights worth of powder up my nose had I been on furlough.

I worked out what it’s roughly cost me since the start of the current tax year the other day, I wish I hadn’t bothered.

Going to sound a bit weird but i feel almost guilty as since i've been medically retired , have nice works pension , home owner with no mortgage & decent savings . Therefore while i will be affected i also know i will be financially ok unlike millions of others.

Know what you mean mate, I felt awful watching my mate go 8-10 weeks with no money and lose his home while I was as comfortable as normal. More so actually seeing as I couldn't spend money anywhere.
