oh give over in Vardys case that was momentum as he fell he had no control of where his foot went therefore pure accident - probably why no Arsenal player suggested Vardy did anything wrong .
Dangerous play, neither had intent to injure so if Eddie gets a red then so should vardy. Imo Eddie had every right to go for that ball he just misjudged the bounce
Oh give over Vardy was tumbling and didn't make any deliberate movement towards Mustafi where as Nketiah (sp) while attempting to play the ball made a studs up challenge at knee height which is dangerous play . There is a world of difference between the 2 in fact the only similarity is neither had any intention to harm the opponent .
so would you have been happy if one of your players got kicked in the face and VAR took no action for dangerous play, then only to see VAR take action over dangerous play. either both are red cards or bookings or no action to be taken, which means VAR was wrong in one case - the intent of the player is irrelevant. it’s the same with the new handball rules, player intent is no longer considered.
Seriously I'd be ****ing amazed if a player got sent off for what happened with Vardys foot irrespective who he played for . Edit - there needs to be no intent for dangerous play just an action that is deliberate that is dangerous & Vardys action was clearly not deliberate . PS handball still needs intent apart from the ridiculous led to a goal one .
Haven't felt so confident going into a north London derby for a long time. And as my name suggests North London is red now and forever.
Feels like we are going to have the same issues with Pepe as we had with Ozil. Masterful talent but he just lacks intensity. He's soo sleepy and laid back. If you press him quickly he will lose the ball (as he has a couple of times already.)
Doesnt matter how much better we are in midfield or upfront. Kolasinac, Mustafi and Luiz are all just well below the required level. They wouldnt start at half the Clubs in the EPL's lineups. Nowhere near good enough.
Xhaka and cebbalos dominating the midfield, slowly changing my mind on ceballos still wouldn't pay more then 20 million for him
Didn’t notice this until Jamie Redknapp mentioned it just there on Sky, see Xhaka block off Aurier to let Lacazette have that extra second to shoot. Small things like that that make all the difference
It's ****ing ridiculous. Should never have dropped points at Leceister and should have comfortably WON this game. Our defenders are a ****ing joke. Its not their fault - they are just not very good players. I genuinely feel bad for Auba etc.. having to deal with this so often. You cant win games if you cant keep leads.
We have the second worst PL record for losing points from a winning position - it just shows our attack can do the business but the defence are just dogshit. the 3 we have been playing ALL have a error in them, so to play all 3 at the same time is very risky if not downright stupid
Worse is seeing yourselves below Tottenham and the other mob from SW London. At this rate you guys will be challenging West Ham for a relegation spot. PS: Is Luiz the love child of Stan as he seems undroppable?
This season was over for me a long time ago - at least in the league. FA Cup - lets see if we can manage to even score one goal against City. hopefully we ship out as many of these players in the summer as possible, I still cannot believe we gave David luiz another year. Also - I said it before but I’m still not convinced by Arteta. 3 wins 1 draw 3 losses since the restart; such an average record. Let’s not forget Emery managed to do much more with essentially the same squad, as well as get to a Europa final.
Gotta be honest lads, i can't believe how static your attackers were today when you were on top of the game. I can't count how many times your full backs/wingers were out wide against two or more defenders and the attackers just stood in their positions in the box waiting for a cross, ffs make a run to pull a defender off the crosser, give him an option to pass don't just stand and wait for the ball to find you. Bit of a rant but it irked me, you should have won that game quite comfortably.
At least with arteta I see an intent - that I can also relate to and stand behind. If he gets his players he will get more done than emery, I believe.
