    Two top scorers with 12 points each mustyfrog, Patsbighands. The top division closes up and with 3 games left still plenty of points available. mustyfrog makes a big move, going for the double as Spurlock did.
    Billy The Yid retains his lead for the moment. The second division is collapsing as players throw in the towel but No Kane No Gain and SpursDisciple could still make it out of there. 8 failed to predict.     I should have known better! Silly of me to anticipate a defeat in the NLD! I’ve learned my lesson. And so have the team, it seemed to me. A lot more committed and lively. I hope that applies to the remaining matches, too. Regardless of Man City’s having unbelievably had their sentence commuted, there is just a chance we could make it into the Europa League. Tonight’s game has become crucial. And to spur us on (!), here’s a little local ditty from Sting. I know it as “Polly Perkins of Paddington Green”, but our north-easterly chums regard it as unquestionably “Cushy Butterfield”. Incidentally, there was a wonderful version of this back in 1963, when Lord Hailsham put on a cloth cap (truly) and visited the north-east in order to discover their problems (!). Locals sang “He wined and he dined with society folk, He told an old story, he cracked an old joke. And we could not but wonder at a man with such powers, Who could cure all our troubles in under twelve hours!” and “He’s a big lad, he’s a bonny lad, he’s a bell-ringing peer! But if we all wait for Hailsham we’ll be waiting next year!” Anyway, let’s hope the tide has turned here…..
