Is that Arsenal and Tottenham finished as being big teams in the premier league? Arsenal have been flapping about aimlessly for a long time, now. A squad full of average players, not including Auba. A new inexperienced manager who doesn’t seem to have made any difference to their fragile defensive problems. The bubble could be close to bursting. A long hard season awaits them in 20/21. Spurs started their decline towards the end of Poch’s reign and it’s been continuing ever since. The failure on their part to improve the squad has now caught up on them and a little overhaul will be required to freshen the place up. The problem is the manager, who is a dinosaur. He’ll pick up a few average players but they’ll struggle along playing boring football between 7th and 9th all season before the fans hound him out for his style of footy. With the emergence of Leicester, Wolves, Sheff Utd and possibly the Saudis taking over at Newcastle. Chelsea and Man Utd also making big improvements, it now looks a long way back for the North London clubs. Thoughts?
I think the virus could have a severe financial impact, especially on Arsenal. They probably need about 18 new players and I can’t even see where they scrape together a loan fee. Spurs are ****ed as long as Jose is there.
Fck knows. Finished as big teams? No. Finished as contenders for league title? That happened a decade ago for Arsenal, and Spurs were never in it. Other silverware, gooners might pick up a League Cup if City are having an off season. League is **** in some respects, good in others. Arsenal and Spurs definitely occupying the **** side.
Arsenal had about 5 years as a big team in the PL, Spurs have never been that only a filler whilst others were re-building.
Let's be honest mate, the highlight of your season now is who wins St Totteringham or St Arsehole's day. It's on a knife edge though.
RE-building mate. A proper team, when big teams are in transition someone has to fill the gap. Spurs stepped up and did ok.
I have considered that, and I note, with interest, that flights to Russia have, once again, become available.
Not great really. 11th in the National League. Crouch End Vampires have started open training again today though.
