I know the argument and in many ways I agree. But I cannot abide this idea of rolling a dice to decide which club reaches the top next. "there should be a pathway for clubs to rise, but it shouldn't be an instant money-influx like Chelsea and City were able to do. That just screws over clubs who didn't win the owner lottery and are running within their means. This however is an argument for another day and one which has been done to death too."
Fingers crossed that Chelsea and Leicester can finish in the top 4, and someone like Sevilla can find some vintage and beat United whenever they meet. So good one City!!
City getting off was a foregone conclusion, im not sure many expected anything else. I agree more with tobes that the regs where brought in, more to protect the top clubs than for any altruistic reason. The basic fact of the matter is that it sticks in the throat what city and to a lesser extent cheksea have done. Its like playing championship manager with cheats to have an unlimited budget and then crowing that your the best. I think that's what bothers me more, not the owner investing in his club, he should have every right to do so, but then going on that pep and city have created somethimg miraculous, tend to stick in my throat.
Considering the disparity between these teams, it is disgraceful that Manchester United are only leading 2-1. Frankly that is garbage from such a world leading brand. Come on SFC, beat this lot please.
If anything psg are worse, rendered an entire league pointless. I do wonder what it must be like to be a fan of psg, im sure in the beginning it was great, but now knowing your team will run out league winners before a ball has been kicked must take any excitement away. Its not even like they can hide behind tv revenue or sponsorship. Psg are blatant, in their disregard.
When your running out 5 nil winner most matches without breaking sweat, it must come as a shock as soon as you play a side who is of similar calibre to yourself. Suddenly not quite so easy.
This sort of arguement always leads me to wonder how good pep actually is, yes city are a fantastic side, but would anybody who was allowed to spend such sums of money not be able to create a great side. Makes me laugh, mourinho was once vaunted as a genius, only lasted for as long as the money tap was turned on.
