Quite a good response from Saints to those two quick goals.

We played okay, but look very vulnerable down that United left. Shaw, I really hate to say this, has looked really good.

I don't think Romeu should have been red carded, but VAR makes things like that look bad.

I think I've just worked out why Romeu is still on the pitch. The VAR is Lee Mason.

Long and Hojbjerg for Adams and Romeu, methinks.

Che is getting bullied, needs to learn how to deal with that better.

This is a good game. Two good teams that will be challenging for honours next season :)

Was never gonna be a clean sheet against this lot but two poor goals to give away. I guess every team that concede goals to our press would feel the same, and that it’s not credit to the attackers for putting pressure on the defenders and being clinical.

Still in this though. Hold up play needs to be a lot better from Che to ease the pressure and retain possession. Redmond and Armstrong could be a bit braver too but maybe they are too worried about losing the ball and conceding to another devastating United counter.

Romeu is stupid for that, a red for me.

Who doesn't leave there foot in on the other teams quickest player?

Plus maguire had pretty much raped Adam's and Ings all first half anyway and got **** all for it.

We got leggy and mentally weary quickly in that half, as I feared we might with the same 11 three times on the bounce. Lots of relatively simple passes going astray etc, and Adams isn’t the player for this match at the moment.

I’d bring Shane on at half time, and possibly someone like Smallbone for JWP who looks tired. Boost the energy levels a bit. They struggle when we ping the sharp first time balls about, but it may be a game too far, energy-wise for this same 11.

I expect us to start the second half well, but we need subs before we fade again.

Good first half - maybe swap Long for Adams as he is more mobile and shows for the ball better in this type of game.

I'm not watching so can't comment on that but that was a disgraceful challenge. Could have easily caused an injury there.

    Another victory for var.

A little nip is one thing, but leaving your foot embedded in the shin of the other team's quickest player is generally frowned upon.
