Assuming by "others" you mean players to be sold... I suppose so, but it is looking more like an "if" we get anything for the others. We tried to sell the likes of Hoedt, Forster, Carrillo, Ely & Lemina last summer but either no one wanted to pay or match their wages. I don't see it being any different this summer.
Only difference is that another year has passed on their contract. They might be more open to a move and get a 4 year deal on less money than sit on the 2 years here. We might also be more inclined to take less money as well
Good point re having a shorter contract - but a few are still on 2 years as you say and I think most of them will be looking at huge paycuts to sign elsewhere. I think the club should just ask for minimal transfer fees. If someone offers a few million for Carrillo just do it and get rid of him. Even Lemina i think would be worth selling dirt cheap just to get them off the wage bill forever
Pep has mentioned PEH before, thought he was a huge talent when at BM. Well, nobody is perfect, even Pep! But if he thinks otherwise, happy for his cash.
To be expected, I guess. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/1...ill-take-look-saints-academy-making-signings/
That is really the whole point of the Academy. Too easy to buy in ready made players when for a bit of effort (and possibly risk) you bring through a young player.
I mean this is hardly a revelation. During the shutdown he wrote a new coaching handbook for the academy sides, he’s continually said he prefers to work with young players. The pathway to the first team should be wider than ever next year. The only limiting factor is Ralph has very specific ideals for what each role in his team looks like. If that’s not their game they will have to adapt or look elsewhere.
https://as.com/futbol/2020/07/14/primera/1594680332_745305.html Basically saying that he is joining Southampton on a 4 year deal £2 million a year salary, with an option of a 5th year. Has been waiting for the bureaucracy to be sorted out. Always preferred Southampton over Rennes as speaks English and likes the project Ralph has in store at Saints.
Very highly thought of in Spain, was being linked to some big teams almost immediately after breaking into Valladolid first team. Basically the new Eric Bailly when he broke into Villareals team. Would expect him to be very raw but with a lot of potential
Pace is one of his main attributes according to FM. Along with tackling, clearances and positioning. Also Left Footed.
Not gonna get overly excited until that work permit is sorted but this guy is very highly rated and I reckon there will be a lot of people surprised he’s joining Southampton (if he does).
Salisu sounds like the type of player we need. Might need some time to settle/develop, but we should be really looking for a starter, so if that's him and we stick with four at the back, who keeps their place, Bednarek or Stephens?
Our players get linked with the top clubs in England and the Skates best players get linked to the mighty Brentford!.. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...hs-ronan-curtis-replace-said-benrahma-2911692 #mickeymouseclub
I've a friend who is a Swindon STH, who always speaks fondly of Jack's time there, especially when he played as the defensive midfielder. I think he can be of more use as a ultility player as he can also play as a RFB.
There’s a good chance that the Mighty Brentford might well be, well “Mighty” and be in the Premier League next season.
Don't mock Brentford they're a club on the rise. New stadium coming and may very well be one of our league opponents next season.
